Not the flower show for me: won't be able to get the time off. But that weekend is almost definitely a go for a meet, and I could always meet you guys after you're all planted out too.

Any chance at all of you getting a cheap flight over Tartaronne? You could stay with me?
The Atelier Conservatory
Agapanthus Posted Feb 18, 2005
I am at this time simply listening in without any sensible suggestions to make at all.

So where are we up to? Booking tickets for Chelsea on the 27th?

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am... Posted Feb 18, 2005
Mrs. D and I would love to go to Stonehenge/Avebury... I'm not going to be around between the 27th and the 30th (LARP) but any other days should be fine.
Just need to think about transport, neither of us drive but there *is* a bus from Swindon to Avebury as far as I know(although it's probably one of those wierd rural services that runs every full moon or something)

Caerwynn, so far we seem to have four takers for Chelsea on the 27th - Hypatia, Amy, you and me?
I was going to wait until this afternoon to book tickets in case anyone else wants to come. Perhaps you and I could each book two members tickets?
The Atelier Conservatory
Coniraya Posted Feb 18, 2005
I have booked two member tickets, one for me and another. No problem to go back and book more if needed.
Better get into training, when I went some years ago it was absolutely exhausting.
On the weather front, Hyp, there is no knowing what it will be like, we could be up into the 70sF/20sC or a good 15/10ยบ cooler. But we will have a better idea nearer the time.

Z Posted Feb 18, 2005
Shall we make a Salonistas meet on the weekend of the 28th/29th then?
The Atelier Conservatory
Teuchter Posted Feb 18, 2005
Sounds like the beginning of 'A Plan', Z.
If the Monet, Turner, Whistler Exhibition's still on at Tate Britain then perhaps we could link into that?
The Atelier Conservatory
Teuchter Posted Feb 18, 2005
At the moment, the exhibition finishes on May 15th - but there has been some talk of extending it
It occurs to me that Hypatia might enjoy The London Eye?

No flower show for me, but thanks for offering to buy a ticket

Oh dear!
I can't help myself organising meets can I?
Perhaps we could make that a separate occasion, even if it's earlier on the same day, I know I'm being selfish but I'd like a social event to be a social event and a art gallery trip to be an art gallery trip. You can't concentrate on the paintings or your friends if you want to combine the two..
The Atelier Conservatory
Teuchter Posted Feb 18, 2005
I agree Z - what I was thinking about was something similar to the Main Hootoo Meets - where there's an afternoon bit and then an evening bit.
Maybe with the smaller numbers involved a single social gathering would be better. We're certainly going to want to talk, talk, talk .
If we could guarantee the weather, a picnic in one of the parks could be good? With an evening follow-on somewhere?

Did the Tate Britain when we went to the Nodnol meet. But can always skip that and meet later.

Amy the Ant - High Manzanilla of the Church of the Stuffed Olive Posted Feb 18, 2005
We seem to be making progress . I'll look at buses/trains to get me to Chelsea for the 27th. It's probably going to be best for me to stay in the South for the meet too and if we could put the Oxford trip after the 27th rather than before it I'd be very grateful. Then I can w*rk up to the 26th.

Teuchter Posted Feb 18, 2005
Two members' tickets bought for 27th. So that's now Hyp, Caer, amy and self sorted.
We can get more tickets if anyone else decides they'd like to join us.

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am... Posted Feb 18, 2005
Speaking of the Flower Show: I wonder if Diarmuid will presenting the TV coverage this year, and if so will he be as 'merry' as he was last time?
