That's all of mine guessed and subjected to smiley abuse then. Glad you like , Kelli, it makes up for the biker which, incidentally, is being accused elsewhere of being the crazy frog.

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am... Posted Mar 2, 2006
Yesss... I did wonder about when I first saw it.
It wouldn't surprise me if Master B is involved somehow, he's already ed all over the announcement thread.

We have had kerbside recycling for quite some time now and dead handy it is too. This week they started trialling plastics as well. We have neat little boxes for the bottles, cans, paper and card but the plastics are to be put in a bag and I can see those blowing about the road in a strong gust of wind. The biggest time saver though is the garden refuse collection, queuing to dump stuff at the Council tip was a nightmare.

Our kerbside recycling scheme recently changed to include glass, so I no longer have to do the walk of shame through the village - trying to hide all the wine bottles and pretend it is all jam jars
Had a big discussion with them over plastics - they only want plastic bottles. food trays, yoghurt pots etc are not recycled. They said it wasn't possible to recycle them, when I pointed out that the last place I lived took yoghurt pots they said that they probably just chucked them in landfill when they sorted the recycling stuff. There isn't a plant in the uk that is able to process those kinds of plastic

Plastic bottles can be taken to a couple of sites, no other types of plasic though. The cardboard can be taken to the tip and placed in a very large container. Problem with that is it's usually full We do occasionally cheat and go to the next nearest tip/recycling centre with some of our stuff as it's much bigger and much better organised, though it is run by a different council.

I have decided to give up whingeing for Lent.
I doubt I'll manage it, in fact I've already whinged about the smileys but the discipline 'll be good for me.

As I said in the smiley thread, I love the fact that exists a lot.
We have recycling collections every 2 weeks. The university doesn't recycle, though. It claims to, but the contents of the recycling bins end up with the landfill waste. The issue has been raised, but the response tends to be 'La la la, I can't hear you...'

So now we know where Amy has been these last few weeks, locked away in the smiley factory.
But what's the use of without ?
I finally saw a commercial for Dr. Who on the SciFi channel, but they neglected to say the date when it would start, just a "coming in March".

Woke up this morning with a sore throat and I have been more tired than normal the last few days, I hope I'm not coming down with something.

My mother has 4 wheelie bins - general, glass (with a bag in it for cans) paper and garden. Other residents of our area have been using the bins to stop students of MMU parking on their roads
We just have the one wheelie bin, and it's shared. We're going to have to start sorting stuff to take to the supermarket, but we haven't got around to it yet.

Amy, I hope Wrinkled Rocker is happy with the smiley. He's wanted one for ages. I think it looks like a biker. I like it.
I, on the othe hand, have wanted a rolled eyes smiley forever. I'm pleased that we have one now, but must admit I didn't know what it was without looking. I think it's the mouth. It looks so unpleasant, whereas the way I think of rolled eyes is more ironic than angry. Perhaps it's another of those 'separated by a common language' things.
Now, all of you !
I love smileys. I think is still my favorite.

Joanna, I should leap to the defence of MMU students but I won't
Doing some IT support for them I have come to realise that there is something worse than our students, our staff I mean it's not like you really expect a computing lecturer to know how to do stuff on a computer is it...

I got something very odd in the post at work today. It came from Birmingham University and was sent via Parcel Force. It was...
... an empty envelope
Intriguingly, they have no record of sending us anything recently. It's a very nice envelope, but it is rather .
