Er...I meant *complaining*.
In any event, they really believed he hasn't done anything for the country since leaving the Oval Office. As if retiring to your mansion in Bel Air or playing a few rounds of golf, or being holed up in Houston is of service to mankind.

A few of those corpses who have yet had the decency to pass away are doing the public a service by not speaking IMNSHO.

That's the really great thing about Limbaugh's radio program. People can say completely nonsensical things as if they were solid fact, and all agree with one another.
Marv, the Nobel prizes are awarded for contributions to humanity. The contribution can be at any time in a person's life, and in the case of Carter they are basing it on both his efforts as President and his activities afterward. This also seems to be a way of slapping the Shrub's wrist.

Good.
Good.
Chloe, will you show Miss Debjello to her room? I know she'll want to freshen up and change into fresh clothes.
Floradora, I'll be over to welcome you personally as soon as I finish packing. Your fiance is, ah, out hunting.

Well, I would like to powder my nose.
*polishes off her in one gulp, and follows the little robot through the library and down the hall. The robot opens a door and waits for Floradora to enter, then moves into the bathroom and begins to draw water for a bath*
Why, this is ~most~ luxurious! But make that water cool, Miss Chloe. Hot water is injurious to my figure.
*looks down at the 6-carat diamond on her left hand and sighs* If only James Arthur Bottomley-Webjello weren't such an ass...

With my usual lousy sense of direction, I'm afraid we got lost on the way - I know I should have let Gandalf find his own way... *mutter, mutter*

Hello all!
We had a wonderful time, although still puzzling over the 'thickly settled 30 mph' road signs. As to slowing to 15 mph to go around a bend, we are still recovering from that one! 45 mph on roads that would be classed as A roads here with a 60 mph limit had us gasping for an Interstate!
Odd sort of fall in NE, apparently, no frosts so leaves late to turn, but we saw wonderful colours in Vermont and whales on the Hyannis Whale Watch boat trip. So a lot to take in and over 300 jpegs to sort through.
Arrived back this morning, No2 son got up before the crack of dawn to pick us up. The roads where so empty, he could do 70 mph on the M25. I am not quite with it yet.
Will do my best to catch up.

d'E - Ditto on the Limbaugh remark.
And for President Carter! My stepson was stationed on an aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf during much of the "hostage crisis." I was grateful for Carter's cool head then, and I'm distressed that his keeping us out of a major war is considered a failure.
Need a gift for Floradora. I can save the his and hers towels I bought for someone else.

****Stats for the Day****
I have 2 titles by Rush Limbaugh and 8 titles by Jimmy Carter. During the last two years, one of the Limbaugh books circulated once; the other never left the shelf. Whereas, all 8 of the Carter books circulated for a total of 31 checkouts. Not bad considering this is one of the most conservative areas in the country.

Great statistics, H.
Caer, welcome back. I was wondering if you got to see any color at all, since the trees have just started to turn here. It is a very late year for leaf color.
Definitely a G4 with Mac OS X. Throw in an extra $150 (less with student discount) for VirtualPC and you will have Unix, Mac OS, and Windows all running on one box. There's flexibility for you. (Within a year your copy of VirtualPC and Windows will go virtually unused, but it's great during the transition. )

Uh, guys, I saw what happened when Bottomley took the bomb from d'Elaphant, and I saw him cross the lawn and enter the Majic Wood not long before the explosion. What I'm trying to say is, there may not be a wedding because there may not be a groom.
Better not say anything yet to Floradora.
Welcome back, Caerwynn, and I can't wait to see some of your snaps! It ~has~ been an odd sort of autumn, but then, is there any normal weather any more?

Thanks for the welcome backs The weather was so good that even though we may have missed the peak, we were more than compensated. Needless to say, two weeks wasn't nearly long enough, but we managed to cram a lot in.
The only real rain was yesterday, we spent the morning at the Plimouth Plantation before allowing plenty of time to get back to Logan airport. So we were able to duck into the houses and chat to the 'Pilgrims', keeping out of the worst of the rain.
I think it is going to be along time before I can look more than a bowl of cereal and half a banana in the face at brekkie again. One morning I tried my best to work my way through a full fry up as well as pancakes and syrup, all on one plate, but failed miserably!
