Good news, everyone! The Moon has been replaced!
I "traded" with a dimension that is exactly like ours with the exceptions that the Moon had not been destroyed, *AND* MST3K went on for fourteen seasons.
Speaking of which, if anyone wants to email the programming department at www.scifi.com telling them to play an MST3K marathon someday, I'd be very grateful.

So would the ocean, Bumblebee.
Snake, in a conversation as lively as this we get a lot of backlog and it's just impossible to remember to answer everyone, every time, even when you intend to. I keep wishing for a floating response window so that I can scroll through the backlog while I'm composing a reply... Please know that you've not been ignored. I usually wait an extra thread before considering a researcher as actually joined because quite a few just don't wish to deal withour backlog, as comments in the Magick Forest attest. Not everyone answers every post I make either. Sometimes nobody does. That just means someone else has posted something that grabbed the attention of the NEXT salonista to post, and so it goes.
I have news. My ISP recently changed its FTP servers, without notifying me, I might add. Somewhere round mid-January Dreamweaver suddenly announced it couldn't find the FTP host, and I had to write to earthlink support in order to find out the news. Well, I duly changed my site info and got a connection back, but, boy, it really sucks! Now I've completely revamped my website and the server is disconnecting itself every two minutes before I've even got a whole page uploaded and after that Dreamweevil thrashes for MINUTES, not knowing whether it's connected or not.
So at the moment, I almost have an index page but don't count on ANY links until the problem is resolved. I'll let y'all know. Earthlink haven't answered my latest email yet.

What Ho chaps and, in Best John Wayne voice, good morning young Miss Peripatetic Soldier Ant Monk, sure good to have you on board!
Back on the old dustbin lid and Heath Robinson technology, however, no longer cold and dusty, but now hot and wet, which in a naughty take off from Good Morning Vietnam is perfect in female company, but no good if you are on your own!
Just before we left the GAPL (Green And Pleasant Land) there was talk of wide band access prices being reduced - how nice to think that we may be catching up with teh rest of the technologically facilitated world.

In response to MR, I would like to point out that I *do* find Spongebob funny.
I just don't like watching cartoons for hours and hours on end.
Morning all!

And evening all.
Just before I toddle of home ought to say, good luck to the French and Scots tomorrow as another week of anxiously watching an ovoid fly round a stadium while national pride hangs on the ability of someone to stretch an extra couple of inches has me glued to the TV.
Might pop past this evening, as I intend to download some Goons I found.

I think spongebob is hilarious. I like cartoons, but I can't watch them for hours either. I can't believe what some of these new cartoons get away with saying though...
Some fav cartoons:
spongebob squarepants
(the new adventures of) batman & robin
superfriends (the original)
smurfs
gummy bears (the best show ever)
powerpuff girls
where in the world is carmen sandiego (cartoon was good)
transformers
GI Joe
I used to love watching GI Joe and the Transformers. Why is it the bad guys were always so much cooler than the good guys. What kind of moral is that? I mean, the Autobots were all so sad and nowhere near as cool as the decepticons. And the only cool good GI Joe was Snake.

The problem must always be more interesting than the hero, lest the hero lack the enthusiasm to meet the difficulty with full force. Or something.

Er, there was a cartoon - stop the pigeon, wasn't it? Or how was it called. I used to watch it every possible chance.

The last time I was completely transfixed by a cartoon was with Ren and Stimpy. *nasal voice* "You EEEEEdiot!" John Krikfalusi deserves a lot of credit for much of modern cartooning.
*thinks PWM's hot wet environment is just consequences for too much beach enjoyment in recent weeks*

Morning all. Sad news. I just watched two leaves fall off my mulberry tree. This signals the end of the golden (though much wetter than normal) summer is imminent. Sob.
