When it comes to the Olympics, I only pay attention to men's hockey.
Figure skating is no fun now that Tonya Harding's out of the knee-whacking business.

Hi, Styx, the last time I saw you was on the quest for Titania's everlasting bottle. You were seeing off the ratants.
Tail still nice and warm?

Hey Styx! Not seen you for a few weeks. Fountain of youth, you say? Hmmmm, could've sworn that was in Florida....
Oh, well. Don't need it myself, not now anyway. My Elixir of Life has worked very well ever since I was stranded inside the Hurtler.

*ponders growing to a ripe old age, finds that her imagination doesn't quite stretch that far. keeps thinking that twenty seems really old to her, and that's only two years away*

You look remarkable well preserved, Styx. I might have to join you in the sewers.
I have two things left on my list - walk the dog, and watch a movie. I have accomplished two things already - get a lymes disease vaccination from the vet, and purchase two more chairs for my deck table. I managed to get them into my car even though they were too big.
LOTR starts at 3:30 - that gives me just over an hour to walk the dog.

Oh - Styx! Nice to see you again!
Two unaus? Yes, this is Ripley - now, stay away from him and go play with Springie!

You guys... I'm kind of laissez-faire, and my cold is definitely dehydrated, but clinging to sinuses and trachea with all of its pseudopodia.
*makes sure Styx's ginger ale is topped up* Yes, Styx, another sloth, and I'm sure she will be just as playful as Mindspring. When she's not asleep.
sea, I understand how you can feel all a-goggle at the prospect of turning 20, although it's a long time since I had to worry about it. I was gobsmacked when I got to 50 and realised that I was still thinking young. And several years later on from that milestone, here I am outside of the previous comfort zone and fixing to work on a new career.
I wasn't 20 yet when I listened to Simon and Garfunkel singing "How terribly strange to be seventy..."

Age is an odd thing - most people I know feel younger than they are (physically) - but then there are people who've always been - well, not old exactly - but adult ever since they were kids... they don't seem to change much growing up, for some reason...
I hated becoming 27, because that meant I lost a lot of student and youth discount benefits for travelling...
...right now I'm aiming at becoming 100 years old, which means that I won't be 'middle-aged' until 50...

Age doesn't really concern me much, but it does feel weird when I think that I have been out of university and working at this job for 22 years. It sure doesn't seem that long. It helps to give me perspective when my daughter is acting up. I just keep thinking that when I look back at this time, it will seem like a very brief interval in my life.
It's also sobering, but somehow freeing, to think about how little I remember of those 22 years. Makes the present easier to enjoy when it isn't so important.

Live every day is if it were you're last day in life...
...or something like that, trying to translate from Swedish...
I try to remind myself of that every now and then, because they're right (they = people almost dying but brought back) you know - not much use making up plans for what you'll be doing once the kids have grown up, or once you're an OAP or...
...because you might be hit by a car and die tomorrow - so what REALLY matters is HERE and NOW!
But when I look around, I see so many people, in such a hurry, working so hard - but why? For what purpose? If they were to die tomorrow - what would they have to look back at?
I think I might be repeating myself when I quote someone that said something like: 'life is like a pearl necklace - and the pearls are made of moments - those special moments of your life - and you're aim is to collect those pearls'

Lonnytunes - Winter Is Here Posted Feb 19, 2002
Morning all. Alas, the day is overcast and it may rain during the big England v New Zealand cricket match that starts across the road from my house in 4 hours time. Perhaps it will dampen the spirits (water down their beer) of the Barmy Army.
22 degrees Celsius.

Hi to Styx, long time no see
Ah well off to the pub quiz shortly, it may be the last one at this place as the owner has sold it and we don't know what the new owner plans

sea, 20 is nothing. Why, just a wee drop in the bucket. Aging is not something I worry about. I celebrated my 30th in style, with friends and family at a wonderful gourmet restaurant. I plan on doing the same for my 40th, 50th, and beyond.
In fact my 31st is in less than two weeks...

Styx, meet Sam. She's a swirley-eyed ant monkey.......a kind of cross between an ant and a monkey, but with kaleidoscopic eyes......

Don't look at me! It's nothing to do with me. Would I produce a pink offspring? Anyway, the whole idea brings tears to my eyes .
