We're definitely getting higher up -- look you can see the beach from here, and it must still be summer cos HRASC is partying. Hmm. *gets out miniature binoculars in order to observe the HRASC members more closely*

*calls to haywain*

Any mince pies left?

*climbs on Lil's shoulder to look through the binoculars - one ocular at a time, of course *

Catch, Titania!

*throws her a mince pie, which T catches effortlessly*

Now if I was doing the catching, I would have dropped it. I blame it on astigmatism

Has anyone spotted a good candidate tree yet?

*peeks over the top of the wagon and enjoys the view*

*the lane makes a final turn, a short ascent that makes the great horses grunt a little bit, and then comes to a small meadow. Amos turns the haywain around then whoas Bonny and Clyde and throws the brake stick forward*

*Several paths lead off from the clearing: one appears to head downward, one continues straight ahead like a diminished version of the lane, and the third is clearly an ascent*

*Surrounding the wagon and defining the clearing is a mixture of conifers -- lodge pole pines, cheery green balsam pine, douglasadams firs, and here and there a spot of goo-green indicating goo spruce*

*Amos jumps down, sets out the steps, then blankets the horses, loosens their harness and begins to feed them*

Well, ladies and gennelmen, and er, the rest of ye, this is as far as the wain goes.

*stretches and climbs out of the wagon* Absolutely beautiful!

*stands, turning, looking at all of the trees*

*jumps out of sled as soon as have slowed down*

*stretches legs*

*picks up backpack, puts thermos back into it*

*gives Bonnie & Clyde a good-bye *

Amy, maybe you could do an aerial reconnaissance and let us know the best way to find a nice stand of goo spruce trees?

*stowing her binoculars, Lil gets up and clambers off the wain, careful not to dislodge Amy and the dragonflybot from her hat*

*Jumps out of the haywain and runs behind a clump of evergreens. Returns a few minutes later looking relieved.*

What a beautiful place. I'm sure we will find a fabulous tree here.

Then perhaps we could go back and 'borrow' a few of those decorations.

I dunno. That tree might not have liked us considering messing with the eggs,...
