Me, too, Marv. It's Hypatia or nobody for me.

Just a warning to Lil that I'm sending her the Mask Infusion brochure, which will probably bounce back because I've mistyped the e-mail address (again...)
Dripping and other foodstuffs... I love a fried slice. Hubby thinks it's disgusting. I also love toast with gravy on top, or beef drippings. Mostly we live on big pots of bean soup and other such homey things. I leave it to R. to cook things he finds appetizing; mostly I make these giant pots of beans so I'll have lunch for a week or so. But lately our fridge is on the fritz, and is barely cold so everything spoils way too quickly.
Howdy to Rainbow's Tears!
I must get back to Yahoo and try to figure out why it keeps telling me my Bcc isn't working - it tells me that subset " " is faulty. What the heck is subset " "? You'd think that it would have no problem with a list of e-mail addresses separated with commas, like every other e-mail program - but no, it comes back and tells me that the addresses that it inputted into my Bcc window are incorrect. The ones that it's programmed to enter automatically when I tell it to.

I've just discovered that I really need to learn javascript over the next few days. Right now I'm reviewing the reference guide over at mozilla. It all looks strangely familiar.

Affy and B4, I'm so glad you and yours are all okay!
Welcome back to Rainbow, and PeaceandGoodwill, and Rosemary, and Scandea, and .... any others who've returned to the Atelier after their wanderings.
I voted -- haven't missed an election since I was "legal" -- however, I named my top 3, in order of preference, as in the past I have discovered that since not everyone can be happy, they can at least be agreeable to a consensus of sorts (particularly with 10 people trying to choose where to eat after the movies, with 14 different cuisines in close proximity).
Besides look what a really polarized election has done for the USofA! Red Goo, Blue Goo, anyone?

Kat - From H2G2 Posted Sep 27, 2005
I've got a....JOB!! A Kat-job in the local Thresher's Winestore!!
I've also got a maths test today and had 3 hours sleep...
You should have gone to the Warwickshire Town&Country Show B, there was LOTS of lovely cheese there! Oh and you should try Berkswell cheese, that's scrummy and make a very refined slice of cheese on toast.
Hello to all our returners! Good to have you back!

Congratulations on the job Kat!
I've just spent over an hour reading one of the Della-threads and composing a post. *sigh*
I'd been going to use that time to study. I think I'm going to have to unsubscribe from a lot more of h2g2 than I already have.

Hello returnees!
Z, Ben and Rainbow: Oo-er! Fnarr, fnarr! Just needed to get that out of my system.
It's mine and Mrs. D's second anniversary today!

on anniversaries, jobs, snake cuddlings (!) and payments
Just found a magnificent site with some very nice panoramas on the wonders of North American nature:
http://virtualguidebooks.com/Fullscreen_TOC.html
Does require Quicktime (and I have no clue as to what it does on other platforms than Win/IE) but very, very beautiful stuff there
(yes, I did post it over at "my" Great Outdoors, too )
And My Big Work Project just took off - after two years of work that I've been involved in and a few that were before my time here, we have received the first purchase order. $40.000 on one order - and more so, proof that we've actually gone and done it!

Congrats, Mr. D
It's probably mine and his 'getting together' anniversary soon, (well, actuall the meeting thing has been and gone), but we can never decide what date we 'became a couple' so we usually just pick a day we feel like going out on.

Sounds like the best way to do thing that does Kerr.
Lard is in the fridge at home, normally used for making pastry. Frying things get done in sunflower or olive oil, or for that decadent feeling butter. I'll have none of that artery clogging either, my lipid profile at the last count (a couple of weeks ago) was bang on and I hadn't even fasted the night before (though I did the night before the told me it was ok and I should have had breakfast ).
Well done on the job Kat and also for the sales of the big project Santra
Right best get on with some work.

Congratulations Mr. D - I hope you brought Mrs. D something special in bed this morning.
Can somebody explain this 'voting' thing everyone keeps mentioning. What is it? Can I join in? And if I can, who am I supposed to vote for?

The voting is for the h2g2 presidential elections, and you should be voting for Hypatia... if you do you get rock cakes.
Unfortunately I didn't do anything special this morning on account of oversleeping slightly and needing to get ready for w**k.

AAaaaaaarrrrrrrggggggg!
The key for my car won't start it any more. This is becaue it is old and tired and very very worn. I had problems yesterday, more last night, and today it just wouldn't turn in the barrel.
There are two things which are really annoying about this. The first is being patronised at length by the blokes in the garage, and the second is that I really need it so I can drive down to Bristol for the first of the MSc weekends. Trains are over 70 quid, and take 6+ hours presupposing they actually work. I can hire a car for the w/e, but the nearest car hire places are 10 or 15 miles away.
The logistics of this weekend *stink*, and I think it is only going to get worse, not better.

Well, if you have the time and feel the need for a friendly face or two remember that Brizzle is less than an hour from Swindon.
Key: Complain about this post
