You can't put beaches in!!!

I am shocked and stunned, young man!
Yes, I agree with what you've said about the negative aspects of beaches, but there are so so many good bits you'd miss.....
Strolling in the clear and warm Pacific surf of Manly Beach
Feeling the soft sand crushing gently between your toes at Bondi
Watching the huge blue waves crash onto the unfeasibly golden shores of Kinnego Bay, Donegal
Wrapping up warm for a rejuvenating stroll along Portstewart's mile long strand, with the Atlantic blowing all those night-before's-Guinness-induced cobwebs away
eating fish'n'chips with loads of salt and vinegar while people watching underneath the shadow of Slieve Donard
I could go on....

Pah. You're just biased by a dream holiday to Australia.
Visit Blackpool, Cleethorpes or Weston-super-Mare, and tell me I'm still wrong.

So, you argument is that the only good beaches in the world are in Ireland or Australia.
Convinces me, I must say.

Southend beach, still getting the nightmares 20 years on !!

No, I did say that I could go on. Those were just the first ones that come to mind.
"English beaches" as a category, I'd have no problem with consigning to Room 101.
But I contend that to deprive the world of all the other beaches on the planet would be much too great a loss.

I'm for putting beaches in. It's a boiling hot day, so why not drive to an out of the way place and then go and sit in one of the most shadeless environments possible?
In fact can you put the xian rock 'musicians' in first, and then cover them with a dense layer of beach? That way we won't be able to hear their caterwauling.

Can I point out that without beaches there'd be no beach volleyball?
And no Baywatch!

Nope. You're not going to appeal to my sexual instincts.
This time.

Beach volleyball!
We will fight them on the beaches...
Sex On The Beach...
I think, on balance, beaches are a good thing. I vote they stay out!

I'm not sure I'm going to win this one, am I?
I'm not convinced that Dunkerk was a good thing, however.

If their weren't any beaches, then Hollywood wouldn't of had to wreak a small desert islanmd for that Leando de Sprout Faced Boy's film

If you had narrowed it down to 'overcrowded tourist beaches' then I would concur.
BUT!!!
A world without, for example, the beautiful cliffbound Calgary Bay on the Isle of Mull or the tiny, remote Cornish beaches only accessible through tortuous coastal footpaths and ignored by the general masses do certainly NOT deserve to disappear.
So, I vote a resounding NO!!!
