h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Upon entering the house, you are in the Grand Hall of the mansion, a large room with an enormous fireplace and doors leading off to the other rooms on the first floor. A double staircase leads to the second floor. The furnishings here are large and highly decorated, showing off the previous family's wealth.

*sits down against wall and shuts eyes, ironically keeping watch*

*one of the tapestries flutter, though there is no wind*

*lstens to the air*

*a swarm of moths flutter out from behind the tapestry, heading towards Lans*

< *grabs extra strong bug spray* >


*looks up and eyes the swarm*

*the moths land on the carpet by the fire and seem to spell something*

*gets up and moves forward to get better clarity*

*the moths spell out "Ballroom Mirror" and then flutter away*

*goes and looks for the Ballroom*

*Lord Curmanis enters the hall, and nudges something with his foot*

What's this?

*bends down and picks up a small vase*

I wonder if this is what I'm suposed to destroy...

Oh well, here goes nothing.

*Curmanis throws it as hard as he can against the wall*

*the vase breaks into tiny pieces, though it wasn't the correct vase.

*waits to see if anything happens*

*a few minutes go by with no noise*

Oh man.

*goes to try and find the right vase*

*Polonius runs across the hall to the Dining Room*

*Lans steps through into Hall*

*is standing outside of the door very wet*
*knocks on the door*

somewhere dry i said... bring me to this place... very smart guide you are...

[ghost] I'm a spirit guide not a navigator,

I think you knew this place was here... i think your upto something...

[ghost] i think you worry too much,

I cant worry too much, I'm stood next to the most violent outposts i can think of next to a house thats all but friendly and your saying i'm too worried!

*falls silent*

*Polonius strolls into the Hall*

*he walks to the door and opens it*

Greetings! Won't you come in?


You too, Alicia.

ah thanks polonius...
I dont suppose you know what this place is?

[ghost] a friend of yours Alicia?

this is Polonius, a buisnesman and healer i beleve...

[ghost] honered to meet you sir,

It's a... something. Anyway, I believe I know where we are now: There was once a girl at the Guild; a necromancer. We were very fond of each other, but her father would have no part of it. She disapeared and the last I heard of her family, they had all been killed during some sort of attack on their house. This, I strongly believe, is that house. Alicia, I believe you have been here before.

*looks suddenly defensive*
what makes you say that? Not all necromancers are related you know... its not always a family thing!
*looks at the ghost*
not always...

[ghost] well well so jumpy these days... go play in the garden like a good little girl...

Polonius... what do you know about this place? what did you mean i have been here before?
