*something swoops from the inside of the walls and flys into the distance*

*Lycan on the back of Pesh swoops slower over the wall before flying into the city*

*Lycan walks upto the gates*

[Lycan] Hail guards let me past

*the gate opens*

[guard] good travels My lord

*lycan walks through the gate way... but out the other side runs a white wolf, into the distance*

*a white wolf bounds back through the gate*

*the guards look a little confused and one chases after it*

*more guards and soldiers are posted to their positions, reinforcing the defenses of Imardin*

*Lycan runs along the wall and jumps off the other side*

*he lands seemingly unhirt as the he runs into the distance*

*the guards on the wall look rather flabbergasted*

*A few men wearing bronze and black armor with lances slung over their backs, roll up 3 very large crossbows. The kind that take wheels to move...*


*Guards approach, salute the Dragoons since they were hand picked by the High Lord to protect the city from dragons...The guards help the dragoons set up a counter offensive.*

*Elandra comes onto the wall, and nods to the dragoon commander*

*catapults have also been installed along the wall*



Are they in range?

*the dragoon looks out at the swiftly approaching dragons*

[dragoon commander] Almost, my lady.

[Elandra] When they are, open fire immediately.

*runs out to one of the ballistae that's facing the approaching dragons and army*

*casts a spell that leaves a big blob of acid stuck on the end of each bolt, which splatters on impact*
*salutes the captain who's in charge of this ballista*
That's three acid bombs right there sir! aim well!

*hurries off*

*Elandra nods at Atalan before he goes*

[dragoon] IN RANGE! FIRE!

*they fire at the one of the black dragons, a smaller (but still large one) and the acid bolt they use hits true*

*they fire again, at the same dragon, and another acid bolt hits*

*the dragon starts to veer off course and they fire their last acid bolt*

*the bolt shatters halfway between the ballista and the dragon, and the blobs of acid suddenly fly towards the wall*

DUCK!

*they manage to dodge the acid and then the dragons are truly uopn them*

*Lumien jumps to the top of the wall surrounding the slums, draws her staff, and looks around. Her knife presses comfortingly into her calf.*

*Elandra nods to Lumien*

I think Lycan needs the presence of a healer - or an elementalist - on the guild roof!

Carry on firing!

*the dragons fly overhead as she speaks, and the dragoons swivel the catapults and ballistae around to fire*

*one of the red ones swoop around and snort fire at the walls*

Scatter!

*they throw themselves away from the fireball that flies out, it strikes a bare patch of the stone wall marlessly*

Right!

*Lumien makes her way to the Guild roof, using walls and rooftops as her road.*

*ninian flies towards the now a-bit-damaged wall where Elandra is, she looks rather relieved*

Carry on attacking the dragons!

*the dragoons nod, and she jumps onto Ninian's back and fly into battle*

*fiers an arrow at the underbelly of a red dragon, then rusn off to the guild roof*

*change that, I did /not/ go to the guild roof, someone already did.*

*still here*

*commands militia from the city to volley over his head, and they rain about 30 arrows on the red dragon there*

*shoots a lightning bolt at another dragon further down the wall where there aren't many defenders, to help out*
