I have a piece of paper with the answers to some of those questions people ask to answer someone, when they think the answer should be obviouse, heres a sample:
Nope, the pope is in fact a seventh day adventist,
nope, bears use the toilets in the McDonalds on the ramp up to the palasades in Birmingham,
and yes bill gates did make his fortune fairly and without any immoral or ilegal activeties...
of course the list could be wrong

I ashamedly admit that I really, really liked Bakshi's Cartoon version. Much more than Pete Jackson's abomination.

When I saw it on Channel 4, I thought their editors had done a better job with the ten-minute compilation they made up to explain how the story ended. It was far better edited than the original movie, which was too unevenly paced and clunky for my tastes.

It's very pretty, that's about all I can say for it. The reason I like the animated one is really just for the opening bit in red and black, looks really good.

Yeah, the Nazgul in the new one couldn't scare my Dog (who incidentally is scared of Cats, Mice, Shoes, his own reflection and the list goes on)

If I remember correctly, the cartoon's soundtrack relied on strategically placed bursts of subsonics to trigger fear-on-demand; with that, you could cause a panic attack at the sight of Mick*y M*use!
