Talking Point: The Great Sweet Debate

17 Conversations

A cascade of sweets in colourful wrappers.

When we reach adulthood, many of us experience a change in the way our tastebuds work. Suddenly we crave spicier food and less syrupy drinks than we did as children. But there's still nothing like the pleasure of rediscovering a sweet from childhood that's been repackaged for a new generation.

This week, we want to know about your favourite sweets:

  • What makes the perfect sweet?

  • Are you a purist who believes that boiled- or toffee-based sweets shouldn't mix, or are you all for chocolate bars with everything from nougat to nuts in the mix?

  • Are there ones that you just can't get any more? Do bygone sweets go to 'Sweet Heaven'?

  • Do sweets get smaller or is it just that we're bigger now?

Have your say in the great sweet debate!
