I used to adore getting a 10p mix at the local news agent.
10p was about a fifth of my pocket money in those days, so was a considerable outlay.
In return you'd get a small paper bag filled with all sorts of wonders that you'd spent fifteen minutes choosing from the enormous sweet counter that you were eye level with. The newsagent used to get really narked, especially when there was a crowd all having the same and taking eons choosing - always important business for a 7 year old.
Flying saucers, cola bottles, bubbly, mojos, black jacks, fruit salad, cherry lips, swizzlers. One bag would last for days!
10p wouldn't pay for the bag these days!

I'd go for the 2oz mix from my local shop - the shopkeeper would put a few sweets from lots of different jars into the bag - pineapple cubes, cola cubes, spearmint chews, pear drops....mmmmm
