Actually, now that I go over everything here again, I think I can put something together. There's more potential symbolism here than I at first thought. I'll see what I can come up with.

Just here to apologise for not being around for about the last week. Work has been nuts. Seems to be on the verge of settling down now. I'm still working on the first draft of the new holiday and I'll let you all know when it's ready for perusal. I just need a good opportunity that combines free time with sleep depravation in order to get myself into the proper state for best results.

Is "Berlinerisch" really the appropriate form to use? Is it even a proper word at all? I'm going to use plain old "Berlin" until someone can convince me that "Berlinerisch" is correct. Perc?

I don't think it's a real word. If someone in Berlin is a Berliner, shouldn't it be "Berliner Depravity Weevil" or even just "Berlin Depravity Weevil"?
It should be correct; we can't just go making up words now, can we?

"Berliner" would probably be grammatically correct but if the weevil is called "Berlinerisch", how could it be changed by anyone? And "Berlinerisch" sounds better... I don't see anything wrong with making up new words... Do weevils speak English??

The Church page explains the naming conventions for new weevil species. The first part of the name describes the region to which the weevil is indigenous, such as British, or German, or Japanese. I'm only going to change the name back to "Berlinerisch" if it's a correct form (which I doubt), or if there is enough support from the members of the Church to warrant using the incorrect form.
Granted, the content of the Church is wonderfully nonsensical, but even with a dedicated form of nonsense, there are usually some conventions to help solidify the fragile fiction 'pon which it stands.
As for weevils speaking English, many weevils know some bits of the English language (and fragments of other languages as well), but the vast majority of them speak Weevil, and we as members of the Church of the True Weevil are thankfully privileged to be able to understand what they're saying. Aren't they just darlings?

The word Berliner, famously used by JFK when he said 'Ich bin ein Berliner', is German dialect for 'doughnut'. I believe that Berlinerisch is the correct adjective. I am meeting a German colleague today so I will take the opportunity to confirm this.

Perc, it will be nice to know if Berlinerisch is the correct adjective but, it is not really necessary at this point.

Nein, ich glaube dass Berlinerisch kein richiges Wort ist... I mean it's not correct German but in the name of the weevil it is the only right word... What was that about doughnuts??

I believe JFK should have said "Deustcher", but I could be wrong.
Concerning the validity of "Berlinerisch", I'm rather interested in knowing if it's the correct form. Granted, it's a moot point as far as weevils are concerned, but it won't be the first time we've temporarily strayed somewhat from the original topic.
