I'll be there!
Mister Matty Posted Feb 26, 2004
Actually, if I believed in karma (which I don't) I *have* to buy lots of people drinks since I was happily given lots of them gratis by my lovely writing group despite my protestations that they use my money.

EV Will you marry me?
Sorry about the shock old chap, this is my way of asking for your mobile in case I get lost. I've got to go and take some pics for an ex-Edinburgher before the meet and it's way out of the city centre (center if you prefer Mr Zed).
I'll be there!
Mister Matty Posted Feb 26, 2004
Actually, EV, I'm quite tempted to order a *pint* of champagne just to see what the barstaff do...

So does this mean we are not going bowling then?

It'll be very difficult to get lanes on a Saturday without booking, but I suppose we could just sit in the bar, play pool and wait..

Mister Matty Posted Feb 26, 2004
I still want to go bowling but I think someone was making noises about the expense of booking.
We could always go and see if they'll just let us pay at the door, so to speak.

That'll do nicely fords, I've an email at the bottom of my page. From the above you seem difficult to contact!

Actually, at the last Edinburgh meet we went to the bowling on a whim (I think) in the evening and managed to get two lanes okay, so we could do the same again. If not - there's always the table hockey

Wumbeevil Posted Feb 26, 2004
If I remember right from Manchester, the bowling wanted 70 quid up front.

I am good at pool at least I think so!
I only ask as being a fruit loop (stop laughing Fords) it helps me to know [vaguely] what to expect. I haven't been out (socially) since the last meet I went to cos of the agorophobia.
Of course this is a bit of a handicap at a Scottish meet-up. I mean who knows what can happen with you bunch of...
But since I have know met some of you and got to know you better then i won't be as freaked as I was last time!

Mister Matty Posted Feb 26, 2004
I didn't know you were agoraphobic, Mort.
I've got OCD, myself (largely conquered as it was starting to take over my life a few years ago ) so I know what a pisser something like that is.

Actually, everyone loves pool don't they? Maybe we should go to the "bowling" and just play pool. It'll probably work out cheaper.
Key: Complain about this post
