Back from the boozer, and points for GT
Fox's Glacier Mints adverts. Correct +3.
The polar bear was voiced by Willoughby Goddard in the late sixties and seventies, Stratford Johns in the eighties, and revived with Simon Callow in 2007.
Connection to Ringo & Thomas?

Just to while away the time, I'll fill in the potential QI bonus that Clive almost got earlier. Taff pointed out that Ringo was replaced by Michael Angelis as the Thomas narrator, and then Clive said that the Beatles were played by surrogates in the Yellow Submarine film. So I googled to see who did the voices in that film, and it turned out that Ringo (and George, and the chief Blue Meanie) were voiced by Paul Angelis, older brother of Michael.
Which is frankly far more interesting than the boswollocks about Glacier mints and Thomas the Tank Engine that started me off on this QI.

*ahem*
>>Clive said that the Beatles were played by surrogates in the Yellow Submarine film. So I googled to see who did the voices in that film, and it turned out that Ringo (and George, and the chief Blue Meanie) were voiced by Paul Angelis, older brother of Michael.<<
>>Well I know the Beatles proper sang the songs, so presumably they were supposed to voice the characters but wound up being replaced.
Was Angelis one of the voice-actors?<<
So I was right ... sort of.

You could try pointing out that Michael Angelis first got noticed on British TV playing the wonderful character Lucien (with his rabbits) in the Liver Birds. Which was written by Carla Lane. Who was bezzy mates with Linda McCartney.

Just rediscovered this one.
I started this as a result of being down the pub one evening, and a rambling conversation about what happened to the old confectionery manufacturers that we remembered from our youth (answer: they all got bought out by Schweppes or Nestle). When I got home, I did a bit of googling, and hit upon a fact that made me go “Gosh that’s interesting, that’s a QI question, that is”. And rather than thinking about it, I posted the question at the start of this thread. Of course, the next day, I looked at what I had wrought, and said What??
The answer isn’t interesting, but the stuff that youse all have created between there and here is.
But I ought to close the thread, so that everyone can get their points.
So all that is left is: What is the connection between Thomas the Tank Engine and the Fox’s Glacier Mint Bear?

What is the connection between the Bear and Thomas?
Just come to my head. Does the name Peppy, or Peppie come into it?
His name derives from 'Peppermint' I believe.

Cor blimey GT, I'd forgotten about this one again.
I'm afraid the answer is no.

Though the bear was called Peppy, so I'll give you a point for that, just because I'm nice that way.

I'm struggling to think of a clue. It's not the voice. In fact you could turn the sound off completely and the connection would still remain.
