Were The Invincibles a literary or scientific group of that name?

the immortals were the elite of the persian empire
the regiment was 1000 strong and casualties were replaced with the best of the rest so that they were allways 1000 strong

Lilywhite boys suggest the song line "Two, two, the lilywhite boys", but since I have no idea what that song is about, it doesn't really help. With all the mentions of minefields, I'm going to step firmly on "bomb disposal"

Feisor - -0- Generix I made it back - sortof ... Posted Aug 11, 2010
I remember hearing something on the radio ages ago about a defence strategy which was supposed to be invincible.
I think it was called "Bomb of Silence" (the title grabbed my attention}.
Trouble is I can;t remember who proposed it - but I know it wasn't one of the major countries (if you know what I mean)
If this is the right direction I'll wrack my brain a little more ....

There used to be a Lilywhites shoes shop, but I doubt that's relevant here...
The song is "Green grow the rushes-o" but I don't think that's it either.
Presumably we're talking white in the sense of European?

Cluelet time methinks!
Pebbles talking of 'Challanges leagued against them' and 'Lilywhite' are as good a clue as you could get!!!

So is it a team that plays their sport in white? Like Spurs, for example.
