One like the bugle - lacking in keys and gadgets that make for easy use. It's a lot less complicated, yes - but so much harder to learn to play it properly than, say, a guitar.

I think to play the Didgeridoo there's this complicated (nigh impossible) breathing technique that requires blowing out through the mouth while inhaling through the nose.
I seem to recall Harris once explaining the mastery it took. Rolf

A scientific instrument eg microscope. Although that would be nigh on impossible to play.

as the gaffophone is a comic instrument, it can be drawn any size and so does not present a problem with being picked up
and played

I still don't see how you can play an instrument drawn on paper. Unless you fold the paper around a comb, or something.
