I'm such a total sloth. I'm part way through the entry on Birth Control and feel confident about finishing it. Thought I should check in about a time frame though. Given I'll probably be the last person to finish, you might want to set a ballpark cut off date, B.?

Back in post 18 I offered to cover 'The King and I' the offer still stands if the other editor has lost interest.

Looks like Gubernatrix threw his entries up...
I hasten to add one of them - Kennedy - already has an EG entry... and a damn good one A2181890

Yeah. Everything that had Gube's name next to it is available to the general public once again.
Without clicking on the link, I take it you wrote the JFK entry, Jodan. Judging by that smug look on your face, that is.

Don't look at who the author is.

Grr. Am I going to have to wait until this thing clears PR to find out what to link to?

*Thinks*
I think we could do with an update on this, B, and possibly a deadline. As there are areas that might well cross over onto the eventual 'What it was like in the 1960s' entry, it'd be better to have your project completed before we start our one.
Do you know yet what form the project will take? Will it be year-by-year, subject-by-subject or a combination of both?
The reason I'd like to start looking towards a deadline for this are three-fold.
- Firstly, from a purely greedy point of view, to have all of these entries in the Edited Guide will nudge us even closer to the big 7000 mark.
- Secondly, we have a bunch of very eager, talented sub-editors who could be invited to help out. In that way, we could treat this in the same way we used to treat University Projects, rather than clogging up PR and having to wait for each entry to be picked.
- Finally, the song was released in the UK on 30 September 1989. It'd be great if we can mark its 15th birthday with the whole project completed.

"Do you know yet what form the project will take? Will it be year-by-year, subject-by-subject or a combination of both?"
Definitely year-by-year.
I will start chasing up the authors of missing pieces (there aren't actually that many), and advertise some on Challenge h2g2 as well.

Fine. I'll come up with Richard Nixon, ...back again and Watergate. But only because you grred.

Looking over the subjects that don't yet link to anything on your main list, I would be willing to do some work on:
Rock Around the Clock
Alabama
Birth Control
possibly Ole Miss
...that is if the original volunteers don't mind
