Favourites:
When I was very small I loved Mooncat, which had Beryl Reid in it and she was fantastic. I don't have a Gran, but in my head she's like her.
Willo the wisp voiced by Kenneth Williams was fantastic aswell, I've got a video of that actually!
And Morph, the little plasticine man that hung around with the artist guy.

I hated Blue Peter (I'm probably the only one!), "Me and You" and "Lets Pretend". I didn't like children's presenters very much, mostly they were creepy and false. I am an only child and my parents talked to me in quite an adult way.

No they don't have to be educational, children will suss it out anyway if you try too hard on this front, but they can be.

Chuckle Brothers: So you can cite a definite example of the type of character you want your child to avoid like the plague!smiley - biggrin

Me & You! Did everyone know the "reggae" version of their theme tune in the 80's was done by UB40? What we lovingly and jokingly called "The ganja version".
Mooncat ruled the damn planet and Beryl Reid was everyone's favourite gran.

Let's Pretend! You might not be old enough to remember the programme it replaced - Pipkins, which was brilliant (with Hartley Hare and Pig and Topov and co), but we used to copy the Let's Pretend rod puppet and "do all the noises for the opening title tune". Someone can start that off in the pub then you'll suddenly have 10 people singing the song smiley - winkeye
