Aroma Café: The Two Mugs's
Ioreth (on hiatus) Posted Sep 16, 2000
hey everybody
I'm back
Hopefully for good this time around
I'm kinda confused by the new system so I hope this is the right place to post
Could I get a hot chocolate? the choco machine here is broken and that's about the only thing I can deal with while hungover, it was quite a dissapointment

Hi, all. Iced tea, lease, IIEM.
*glug* ahhh... life is good.
Congrats, Titania.
You do realize that you now have an obligation to spoil and expose your nephew to all those things M&D want to keep him from, don't you?
Kinda like practicing up for being a grandparent, w/o the financial obligations.

Hello, everyone. I'm catching up. Congratulations, Titania. Welcome back, Loreth. Lil - there's a place in Manitoba called Komarno, that claims to be the mosquito capital of Manitoba. They have a HUGE mosquito statue in town. In Selkirk we call them the Selkirk Air Force.
My news of the week - I'd applied for a new job in Ontario, and had an hour long telephone interview 2 weeks ago, which was terrifying! Apparently I did ok - I got an e-mail yesterday that I'm still under consideration, and they may take me down there for a second interview! I'm a wreck - I'm so excited at the prospect.

Thank you, all! *smiles sweetly*
I'm reminded of this story:
A young man discovers his parents have given his little son a drumset for birthday present.
He says: 'Don't you remember when I was a kid and got a drumset? I almost drove you mad playing it!'
His parents answer: 'Yes, we remember....' *smiling sweetly*
Sorry, but I think I'll have to leave, h2g2 is being terribly s-l-o-w today (despite 48000 bps connection)?
Good night, all!
*drifting off in her very own special vague, elf-like manner*

Hello all... again unsure of location... hope this is the right thread. Anyhoo, I got my HC this morning IRL so I think I'll take an espresso... double physics is a killer to stay awake for. Hope you're all well even if you are all off in some other thread (or something). Oh, and as always, it's ioreth.

Hey there IIEM, Kenyan please.
*collapses on sofa*
Titania. Your drumset story made me smile. We have a similar tactic. Anytime a friend's kid (child, not goat!) wrecks our house, we buy them a NOISY toy for their next birthday. (with extra-long-life batteries).

Reminds me of a present I got last year. An enormous blow-up Lucky Cat. Just the thing to give a person with asthma and emphysema

eatsmice, a drum or other toy that makes noise and doesn't need batteries is a much nicer gesture.

Hey! Ioreth's back. And just in time, too. This morning I was reading along in a book that I'd had read to me over and over, and suddently her name popped up! Ioreth, are you by any chance related to a character in The Return of the King? And speaking of which, we'll finish up our themed thread titles with this week's new forum at: http://www.h2g2.com/F26140?thread=77005&post=597479
