I've heard great things about Portugal. I have a friend who has relatives there, she spends about a month there every autumn and spring(when the local weather is at it's worst ). How long will you be there?

Yknow, one reason for Harry Potter's popularity might be low literacy levels. Not to denigrate Harry Potter, but a friend related a story to me from when she attended LaMaze classes down here in Lakeland. When they were handing out booklets after the last class, a young caucasian female approached the instructor and said, "Have you got any books with just pitchers? Ah don't lahk to read."

Me, I think there are some brilliant children's books out there, particularly the ones by Russell Hoban.
