This is terrible, how is one supposed to get to the most recent posting quickly, have to click through dozens of links instead!!! it makes life so much slower.

I tried this an hour ago (it is now 2.21pm BST) and could not get in.
So far my homepage looks crap, these new forum threads are crap, I think it is going to take a lot of getting used to.
If this is Ripley, i'm not impressed.
can't stay long, so it is IIEM until Lil gets in, or I get on later.

Also just tried to post this and got a preview.
They've switched the damn buttons around!!!!!!!

What's even stranger is that I just replied to somebody whose name doesn't now appear on the bit of list I have on view. Which means I hadn't got to the bottom of the list. I thought I had. Well, I'll have to be more careful.

LOL. Sorry about my rant earlier on, things were a bit hectic an hour ago, although with things now actually happening an hour ago...oh i'm all confused.

Oh dear, I DO miss having the entire tree in the left frame. This pretty well obsoletes bookmarks, don't it. At least I see what I did wrong last time. I replied before I had got to the bottom of the thread and then was quite bewildered when the screen refreshed and I found myself surrounded by you lot.

Do you mind if I leave us all to the IIEM for the moment? Let me just switch on the transponder ... I'll be in and out so do talk to me, but I need to look around and make sure stuff is ok, and if not why not.

Since we almost never see italics around here, one assumes the coders don't get to use the product they support on a daily basis. I wonder if that has made a difference to the design decisions we're looking at here?

The next question is how to adapt. Are we not users? Let's go use.

The thread labelled "The Gents" just flagged to me that it had been updated an hour ago, whatever that means in h2g2 time, but when I went to look (expecting to have to scroll about 20 times to get to the end of it, since it's over 20 weeks old) the latter three quarters of the thread was missing. Not that it's any great loss for THAT thread, since it was quite scatological. It was on my forum list because I sent the cleaning bot down there yesterday. But worrisome.
