Michelle!... Great to see you! Yes, I got your present. See, I've been wearing it! *takes jacket from chair to show her* That was so nice of you!
Don't worry about the chemistry stuff. Just sit here and work on it while I work on my program guide design, and if you have any tough chemistry questions, just ask me... then I'll nod and say 'I have no idea what you're talking about' and you'll feel better. Ok?

I've been wondering what Redbeard's brew contained. Not for the pedestrian coffee imbiber...

You're right, Ox. But then I'm a pretty hard-core coffee drinker
Michelle, here's the button for you. It should help

Sorry, Michelle...
It's been a good while since my chemistry days but I remember my lack of talent in the field well.

*Walks in door, admiring the new storm drain. Pierrot flys down to shoulder*
Pierrot: Aaawwwk, howdy stranger
Hello Pierrot, and everyone else.
*Gives Pierrot a biscotti. Takes mug from shelf and orders a Majic Tea from the IIEM*
Hey Loony - Queen Victoria must have been powerful too - her birthday is always on a Monday near the 24th of May. And we're still not sure what species of parrot Pierrot is. It would be nice if he were a kakapo, but since he can fly, I don't think he is. He is slightly blue-ish, so maybe he is a Norwegian Blue (a live one). Wonder how he feels about fiords.

*wonders if everyone knows that the chemical name for scum is sodium sterate?
RedBeard, did you kow that some molecules with polar bonds , such as hydrogen halides ionise in aqueous solution?

Hmm, typing that out helping...
does anyone care that the covalent radius of an element is half the distance between the nuclei of two of its bonded atoms? Probably not, the great thing being that in 24 hours neither will I ....

*Ook comes down from rafters and goes out onto porch where he sits down in front of one of the public net access machines*
Hey Garius! How's it going?
Tomorrow will be most interesting. I reckon h2g2 will go offline about 6 am my time, and after that it will be waiting, waiting, pinging. Not unlike a thread race here, actually.
I will wait as long as I can for the latest possible hour, before transferring to a new thread. Let our interface be as uncluttered as possible before the data gets ported over to the new machine.

Greetings all. Sympathy to Michelle, ahhhh Chem, I had to do a full year in College
If you would like, I will offer the same option as Redbeard, sit across from you listen, nod, and utter unintelligible sounds
*sits back, relaxes, listens, nods, utters said unintelligible sounds*

Thanks David, the unintelligable sounds seem to be helping. :o)
I need an A but to get one I'm going to need about 87% which is just so high, im my other classes an A is 70% which is good and relatively easy to obtain...
in aqueous solution, strong bases are compltely ionised but weak bases are only pertially ionised

Regarding the major work being done around town tomorrow morning... I heard a rumor that they're ripping up the search engine and installing some new equipment there, but I haven't heard anything else specific.
..

Hi Michelle, Redbeard, Courtesy
Never did like chemestry, myself. Just learned it for the exams and then forgot it. It's amazing what passes for education
Caretaker Counter Part (n > 12 AND n < 14)
Courtesy38 Posted Jun 6, 2000
Ahhhh Education, well that's a whole other Rant for me
Remember Michelle not to put a Strong Acid into water, that would be no bueno.
I remember one chem exam in College, the prof sent out the papers, then about 2 minutes into it a person collapsed into tears. It was a tough test but I think they were working on a 3 day caffeine high and decided to crash at that instant.
Key: Complain about this post
