The Cafe: Irving Returns (after a fashion)
Irving Washington Posted Feb 25, 2008
I had that feeling at about 4 o'clock this morning. It was very upsetting. I was worrying about work, and kept trying to tell my brain that if I didn't get enough sleep, there would be no way to solve the problems it kept reminding me I would have to deal with in the morning.

[Mog] [nods sagely, and sips ] What ever happened to that expedition that was going to the Majic Forest? The idea seems to have disappeared ...

I thought Affy and Lil needed time to recouperate. Do I need to call my old buddy Masque to keep you busy?

[Mog] [shrugs a bit] Not atrociously, no.

A vanilla latte, please...
Keep a pen and notepad next to your bed - if you find yourself lying awake with thoughts/worries swirling in your head, write those things down and promise yourself to deal with them tomorrow. Tell yourself that you can now safely let go of the thoughts.
Now, in order for this to work you need to keep your promises and really deal with the points you've written down.
But once you get used to it, it really helps giving you a restful sleep.

IIEM, a large , please.
Thanks Bob, I do not do the thinking thing at night. Some strange dreams may wake me up now and then for a short while but otherwise I'm too busy sleeping

Thank you, Titania, but I've got one of those minds that writes things down and then won't let go. It can be terribly disruptive, and I haven't found it to be useful for anything. Oh well.

[Yar wanders in]
[Yar] Hey, guys, I'm getting ready to start an expedition into space. I'm investigating an ... unconventional idea about the Dark Side of the Force. Anyone interested in coming along?

Did they ever close down my shop at the space station? I might want to go out and see what's up...

[Yar] [shrugs] I suppose we could at least check ... I was planning on hitting a couple of places in H2G2-space, and I guess the Space Station's as good a place as any other. Well, apart from where the OmegaMatic was, but that's for entirely different reasons.

[Yar] [nods] Yeah, you remember how I used to have about six Dark Side clones? Y2K and Y4K, et al? Y2C, Y3C, and Y4C got killed on the OmegaMatic. [frowns] ... I think Y3K did, too, but I guess that got retconned out because Dylan forgot about it.
[Mog] [not paying much attention to this conversation] IIEM, I'll have the usual.
[IIEM] Right, a triple espresso with an extra shot of espresso, and a shot of espresso, and a shot of espresso on the side (with an extra shot of espresso).
[Mog] And make it strong this time!

[Yar] Yeah, that's why they took on the names Darth Corrigible, Darth Brooks, and Darth Sipid.
