A Conversation for The Café
The Aroma Café: Summer of Love
Bumblebee revisiting Started conversation May 11, 2004
A sunbeam woke me up this morning, tickling my nose and throwing me out of bed with a loud sneeze, though I think it had some help by the birch-tree outside, sprinkling yellow pollen everywhere.
Suddenly it's here, the long awaited Summer! Birds, bees, flowers and trees all busy with dating and mating. As the nature renews itself, so does the café with a
New Thread!
The cleaning bots have done a good job, the walls look newly painted, the light sunshine color beautifully complimented by crisp white curtains and tablecloth. Flowers from the garden in big porcelain vases on top of the pianola and the counter splashes colours out in the room. Smell of newly cut grass wafts in from the open back door. If you go out there you'll find a flagstone patio with a round table and chairs in lacy cast iron. Someone has hung up a hammock between two trees for those who need a nap in the warm afternoon breeze.
And should it rain a bit, there's still the Deep Purple Sofa and soft music from the jukebox, playing scrabble with Ook the blue Orangutang, while IIEM (Infinite Improbable Espresso Machine) serves you any beverage you want, without alcohol, of course.
Welcome, one and all, to the Café!

*wokes up from a snooze in the sun, sees the open door, sparkling windows and gets up from the chair to investigate*
*cautiously looking round the sees it is safe to come back in*
Oh how lovely! It all looks so fresh and clean!

[The Moogles, who had been hiding in the rafters from the cleaning bot, all drop down in a cacophany of "kupo".]

*climbs down from the rafters, tip-toes to broom closet, puts the ridiculously big padlock back in place again and locks it with the ridiculously big key*
Say - you don't think there might be somethin wrong with the bot? I mean - it returned to the closet voluntarily this time...
IIEM, a - thanks... *sits down with a vanilla latte*

Thanks Caerwyn, we caretakers strive to do our best, even if some of us only drop by once in a blue moon.. No brew though, but IIEM has been overhauled and has brand new filters.
*tries to tickle a couple of passing moogles*
By the way, I got tripped by some webjello-splotches while I was outside on the sidewalk. Do we have a wj problem these days? I hate it when everything goes in slow motion.
IIEM, a decaf with extra cream, please.

The Italics have asked us to report errors (forgot where) - and I've been getting them a lot lately, each and every day even...

Oh well, at least it gives me time to do other things between postings..
*sip her coffee*
Has anything new and exiting happened here while I've been absent?
What's everyones holiday-plans this summer?

*climbs down from her hammock looking suspiciously towards the padlock*
It looks nice here! Bee
As about the summer plans - I've got plane tickets to Denmark.
Webjello - I have been wondering how can I post about not reaching h2g2 if I can't reach h2g2?

I'm getting excited about our holiday this year. For a start we 'are' actually having one for the first time in years.
We're off to Portugal at the beginning of July to share a house with my sister and her family.
Just back from my first Pilates class - with a sore neck. I just shouldn't have done that one on my right side. Strangely enough it was completely ok on my left side. My back now feels nice and loose.
Wouldn't have thought about going but my neighbour dragged me from the house, kicking and screaming - then we had a lovely swim afterwards

OOOH, I love pilates! Although at the moment, I'm sore in places I didn't know could GET sore from weightlifting yesterday. Used the "birthing machine" weights, and today I'm walking like I've been on horseback for a week!

Hello, all. I think I'll have a please IIEM. Too much today already.
Summer holidays. Not this year for me. I just started a new job, so no time off this summer. I had 3 weeks off between jobs, though, and I really enjoyed the time to read and catch up to some of my hobbies.

Our Pilates class is getting tougher as we have now been attending for nearly 4 years. But P is very good at working us up to doing new exercises so that it is a challenge but doable.
We have already had one week's holiday overseas, Bee, so our next one in June will be at home. But it would be great to go away for a fortnight in September, if we can.

'Morning'?
IIEM, a - thanks...
I've got four weeks off in July, which I will spend at the Falun folkmusic festival (if there any good artists this year) and maybe the London summer meet-up if I can get a cheap flight, and I've been thinking of visiting Gotland (Sweden's biggest island) with my mother...

You've better start campaigning for the Estonian meet-up Hati, while people still have a chance to adjust their plans for the summer
