/GB: I have some good pics too - went twice last year. What/where is the photo club?
/Elentari: Good entry - just trying to remember any other bits of interesting info from the tour. Certainly I remmber there are some interesting carvings in the Chapter House - one of a figure poking his toungue out and lots of interesting beasties and creatures and a cat and mouse chase.
The West Front door arch on the outsid has amazing carvings of friezes from biblical scenes and on the inside there are some rather strange semaphore figures along the wall (sorry I can't remember what they spelt out).
The huge rose window is a very unusual (unique?) heart shape and is known as the 'Heart of York'.
I'll let you know if I think of anything else.

Lovely entry, I have just one question, the bloke, Jonathon Martin who deliberately set the fire - do we know why - not important I know, but I'm just curious by nature.

I'm not entirely sure, did you read the entry on it, Fizzy?
for the opinions everyone, I'll get on to them. I was just in the Chapter House two days ago for a concert, I'd forgotten how beautiful it is in there.

Ok, changes made except for the Chapter House bit, I can't find a suitable place to include it.

Nice entry, Elentari
How about including the Chapter House info under 'Tourist Haven' or Trivia'? Would that work?
Wilma

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

GB - I have some photos, including of the illuminations, but I suspect that the illuminations ones will be too blurry, and everyone else probably has better pictures than mine of the Minster normally.

Hi Elentari,
I've been given your fine entry to subedit, and the result is at A20361881. Btw, I've also put in Big Al's addendum from the other thread (on the Rose window), and added him to the researcher list as requested. If you spot anything that needs attention, please drop me a note.

That's great, SchrEck, thanks!
Stylistic point - "Therefore the major phases of construction spanned the thirteenth to the fifteenth century." Shouldn't that be "centuries"?

I don't think so - compare 'spanned from the 13th (Century) to the 15th Century', but 'spanned two Centuries'. But now that you mentioned it, Century surely needs a capital 'c', though.
