No need for that. The trick is, that there are quite some ghastly rocks hidden in the RHine at that part of it, so any sailor who looks up to her and listens to the luring song will not pay attention to where exactly his boat goes - and that's the end of him. I guess she has a contract with somebody who is in need of drowned sailors.
