Actually.... It wasn't the Puritans that wanted the 25th as for X-mas. It was the Roman Catholic Church. It was back in the day when the Empire converted to Christianity. The Romans' major holiday was on the 25th, the Saturnalius. When the conversion happened the leaders didn't want to make anyone really made that the whole callander go screwy.

*Sees the Chief Investor of the Church arrive!!!*
Mister Seymour! Welcome!! My, what a handsome, clever looking elephant you have. His name is Wilson? Hi Wilson! Would Wilson like to go join the other elephants? They are body surfing atm. We are stopped at this lovely beach in Spain. How d'you do? I'm Missionary the Forth, mari-rae, rider of Emma. Have a Brownie, have two. Can I get you something cold to drink? A comfy cushion, perhaps? Take your shoes and socks off and roll up your trousers. The sand is deep and warm. How do you like our sandcastle? Did you enjoy your Christmas? Here, take my umbrella for shade, you don't mind the pictures of sweet puppies all over it, do you?
The others are dozing atm, but they should be waking up shortly. I am anxious to show them all what my daughter gave me for Christmas. See?
*She shows him a little jeweled pin of an elephant!* I told her about our Elephant Trek, you see. Isn't it pretty!!

This is Mister Seymour, and he is the Chief Investor in our Church. The sparkly thing is in my hand, not Gw7en's. It is a pin, in the design of a little elephant.
Happy Brownistmas, Ormy! () Hope yours was very nice!

Thank you all so much! Jenny looks radiant and I look... well, right now I appear to look green with red trim.
My b-day was wonderful, all the more so because I had such wonderful friends here!
Hope everybody's holidays went well. Are we stocked up for New Years yet?
s all round.

*enunciating carefully.*
It is a brooch in the shape of an elephant.
Sorry, Wilson. That'll teach me to assume.
g7... we'd be better stocked if Linus were here to see to it.

Linus - do you have the...um... "supplies" for New Years? I think this beach would be the perfect place for a New Years celebration!
If only we could shrink ourselves and fit into the sandcastle... Hmmmm...
*decides to consult with the Brownie to see if there is a way to do this*
