Talking Point: Smoking in Public Places

27 Conversations

A hand holding a cigarette.

Despite the often blunt messages on the packets, many millions of people continue to smoke. In fact statistics show that smoking is on the rise in some countries. Yet more and more pubs, restaurants and other public spaces are now declaring themselves smoke-free.

  • Do smokers have as much right to smoke as drinkers do to drink?

  • Should we all be worried about the effects of passive smoking or does this only affect an unlucky few?

  • Can we restrict personal choice without affecting people's civil rights?

It's time to have your say...
