This was an essay I had to write at school. My teacher thought t was totally brilliant and it went in the school magazine and everything, so I decided to make it as a Guide Entry.

Freya, I don't think this is the sort of thing that goes into Peer Review. Maybe you should try the Alternative Workshop?

I disagree actually. I think that this is a great start to entry, and I certainly enjoyed reading it Though if you want to progress this through to the Edited Guide, there will need to be some changes made.
Firstly it's written somewhat in the first person, and reads like an opinion piece. That generally isn't allowed in the EG. So it would need to be rewritten in the third person and come across more as a factual description.
The second issue is the content. It's a bit light at the moment. You could expand on the things that you've described so far. Also you could add in some details as to where Kilve is, what the village is like, how to get there and some of the things to do when you arrive.
All that said, I really like what you've written. So even if you don't decide to progress this further, there will be in the unedited guide a cracking little piece about Kilve beach. Well done

yes of course. I completely missed that
I was brought up around there, so of course I don't need to be told where Kilve beach - it's just down the road innit. So I blithely assumed everyone knew where it was...

I also like this very much, and agree that with a little modification it could make an excellent addition to the Edited Guide - as everyone else says, just a little more information to explain the beach to those that don't know where it is would come in very handy.
Might I also humbly suggest you might like to check out A1286886, The Royal h2g2 Geographical Entry Society - we were set up with the idea of encouraging exactly this type of entry, and who knows, you may even find a little useful advice in the Map Room.

I agree with GreyDesk. It could be EG material, it's just a little light in content just now. Tourist Tips, general information, history and a guide to places to see are generally popular in similar entries.
A great example of a well rounded entry is A1067096 and its companion pieces. I do think this makes a nice description of the beach and perhaps an introduction.
Good luck - and if you need some help just holler at us.

Well, if you're so well-publicised you've got six members, then it's no wonder I had the same idea without knowing of your existence

This *could* be an Edited Entry, but it is such a beautiful gem with such a lovely sense of place, it'd be a monstrous pity to modify it so that it would fit.
I'll keep it in memory like the entry on Tucson, 'Rain in the Desert' by Cymraes Yankee.

I agree with the sentiment there. It does so invoke a sense of place about that beach, and so it would be a shame to lose that. However there is no reason that we can't have both
Alpha Centauri could quite easily do a cut and paste job with the current text and set up a new version. Call it something like, 'Kilve Beach - My Original Version', and then work on this one that is in PR to get it into Edited Guide style.
I think that we could call this a case of having one's and eating it

I don't really have the time at the moment. I've got school, loads of homework, loads of music practise, I'm going to a mate's house on Friday and staying over till Saturday evening, I'm not getting enough sleep these days cos of all the work I've got, I need to relax a bit, then on Sunday I've got an orchestra rehearsal. Stupid pivate school .

Let us know when you are able to make changes. It would be good to have an entry on this in the edited guide.

Of course, the entry could always go to the Flea Market, AC, if you don't feel able to complete the entry, then someone else could pick it up and finish it. Do let us know your intentions

Go to PeerReview, find your entry, which should be near the top, then click on 'remove entry' or the X and that should do it!
