Feel good films...
Menza Posted Apr 2, 2001
I keep walking past the DVD and thinking about getting it. Has anyone seen Hollowman, that one looks good too although not in the feel good kind of way.

I don't think that was what he meant
I've seen the trailers repeatedly and it looks quite good, if slightly foolish...I'll probably watch it soon and then I'll tell you!
The Abyss is great, copied by soooooo many other films though...

Chevy Chase's Invisible Man takes some beating, though. Who was the girl in that film? Darryl Hannah?
And I saw LA Confidential on telly the night before last again. An impeccable film - not feel-good, of course, everyone gets shot, but such a good solid story and brilliant acting.

Down Periscope was definitely one of the best laughs!
Virtually every Robin Williams definitely falls under feels good. One or two only class as feel good when they're over though, like... umm what was it called? Toy something or something Toy? It was so terrible, I can't even remember the name of it!
Patch Adams, Good Will Hunting, Fisher King... all brilliant!!
Feel good films...

Toy Story!!! Toy Story!!! That was great
But umm...I assume you meant 'Toys'? That wasn't so bad...
Besides, not every Robin Williams film is good, have you seen 'What Dreams may Come'? I cried all the way through that!

Not to mention Flubber! phew what a stinker (imho)

Bound! I vote for Bound! Watchowsky Brothers pre-Matrix gangster chick-flick, beautifully shot, very dry humour, twisting and turning to the end, and what leading ladies *grins*

Thats right Toys. Strange, I say it doesn't sound familiar, Tinkerbell says it and all of a sudden a light comes on! I wonder about myself sometimes!!
What dreams may come was phenomenal!!!!!
Feel good films...
Eternity (Ace) Posted Apr 4, 2001
Oh, let me not forget... I enjoyed Flubber!!!!!
Tin Cup
Mary Poppins
Bedknobs & broomsticks
Interview with a Vampire (Brad Pitt again....yum yum)
The Green Mile
Much ado about nothing

Re Flubber: I did say 'in my humble opinion'
Tin Cup is a strange one, I thought it would be terrible, but I really enjoyed it. It came on the box a couple of months ago and I was ready for bed but ended up staying and watching the whole film again as it is really watchable.
anyone said Star Wars yet?
Feel good films...
You can call me TC Posted Apr 4, 2001
I didn't know Brad Pitt was in Mary Poppins!
Feel good films...
Eternity (Ace) Posted Apr 4, 2001
Nor did I actually!!
Star Wars shouldn't have to be mentioned, it is just one of those things that is so obvious that anyone who doesn't agree should be shot!
Feel good films...
JAVAM - Muse of Complicated User Pages and Navel Contemplation Posted Apr 4, 2001
Agreed. Ceasing to mention it now.
Watership Down?
Feel good films...
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Apr 4, 2001
*coughs*
WHAT??? How can 'Watership Down' be a cheery film? It was a good film but not cheery! And 'What Dreams May Come' was stunning but it was so sad, much like 'Legends Of The Fall' (with Brad Pitt) which was so upsetting...
Oh and if you're allowed 'Mary Poppins' then I'm voting for 'Mulan'
Feel good films...
Eternity (Ace) Posted Apr 4, 2001
I think the 'feel' part of the topic got lost long, long ago...
