....... I was being squished in the mosh pit....

Hmmm....... especially when your the only one supporting a crowd surfer... and everyone around you is a sweaty and smelly as you are...
I'm not quite sure how I survived! But after I got out, I found this cold drink stall and nicked some of thier ice... a rather huge lump if my memory serves... After 10 minutes of being stuck on my head, it'd all melted
It WAS strange seeing Tom Jones there though.......

Not fair, I've not been to any gigs other than the Shirehorses (got tickets to see Tom Hingley at the Cockpit, but we didn't arrive until we'd been chucked out of Whitelock's and he'd already cleared off )

I saw Def leppard last they were so cool...actually no I lie, I think I saw *coughs* Meatloaf since then... or maybe it's the other way round... I saw Picture House too and they were the best ever
*thinks*
I'm sure I've seen someone since then...oh wait yes, Thunder they were great

Thunder?... Picture House?.... *tries not to show ignorance, but fails...*
Ooo... Def leppard.... And what's wrong with MeatLoaf?!!!

Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Dec 3, 2000
*waves and giggles*
Thunder? As in "Love Walked In" to quote the only one that anyone knows...
And I'm not even going to attempt to explain Picture House
And there's nothing wrong with MeatLoaf in my opinion but I always tend to be challenged on this

I generally don't mind Maltloaf, but I agree with people who complain he's not entirely appropriate for pub jukeboxes on Sunday lunchtime.

Ahhhh... Paradise by the dashboard light.

The Fish Posted Dec 5, 2000
Eh?.....
Meatloafs at his best in concert though.... it doesn't really translate well to jukebox or cd....

Is Fish frowning at me again?
Those little yellow dots all look the same on my computer. Harumph.. Methinks I'll waddle off to the BOF INN for a good belch and fart and maybe a smoke out back. In that abandoned Jag Mark II (with the mice in the leather seats) that is the centerpiece of the rear terrace.
Whenever anybody says Meatloaf I think of Paradise By the Dashboard Light.

No he wasn't frowning that was confusion I think...
I suspect he just didn't understand your reference to Paradise By The Dashboard Light...which is very funny live

The Fish Posted Dec 6, 2000
The "" smiley is an "erm" smiley.... there is no or smileys...
And I did understand the Paradise by the dashboard light!

My screen looks like it's underwater so every smiley is just a yellow smudge and I miss all of the subtle nuances and variations. So thanks for the translation from visual to textual.
Unfortunately, now I'm really confused: what is an "erm"?
Is that like an "ahem" or "wha..?" being deliberately ambiguous while expressing mild contempt for what may or may not have been an inappropriate non sequitar or otherwise unwelcome interjection?
Oh well, back to the BOF, where a man can fart in peace.

Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Dec 6, 2000
"Ummm" would be like "errrrm" ...
I still don't understand quite why the erm was there but I'm sure it wasn't in contempt...more just a "yes quite" which is generally a sign of me having talked complete rubbish which no-one can understand...
*waits for the "yes quites" to appear*
But I wouldn't worry about the smileys some of them are quite traumatising anyway... I'd illustrate my point but...
So Fish why the erm?
*grins*
