Yeah is rather.

As for the thread title,

(Sorry to drift back on topic. smiley - winkeye)

Love must be when you'd rather spend Christmas day on the other side of Scotland and not anywhere near you own flesh and blood relatives. Not that I'm pining or anything. smiley - sadface

MUCH!!!!!

So is FC in Scotland and you elsewhere or is FC with you and your relatives are elsewhere?
*waves her new wand*
There you go...
*a magic flower appears filled with happy thoughts and glitter*
The glitter is optional but it's more festive I think smiley - smiley

Soooo, if we're going back on topic then do I get to list random quotes now? Yey smiley - winkeye
So I'll start with the highly respectable quotes I know and then work downwards to irrelevance...
"Why do stars shine? Asked Piglet... Because they're full of wishes Pooh replied..."
*grins*
What do you mean that's not relevant? smiley - winkeye

"In a distant and second-hand set of dimensions, in an astral plane that was never meant to fly, the curling star-mists waver and part...."

I'll leave you guessing what that is from... smiley - winkeye

"Britney, before you go there's something I want you to have,
Oh it's beautiful but isn't this?
Yes, Yes it is...
But I thought the old lady dropped it into the ocean at the end of the film?
Yes but I swam down and fetched it for you...
Oh you shouldn't have, Ooops I did it again..."

Not to jump in and pretend that I know what I'm talking about or anything, but I do see a lot of problems with the generally accepted definition of love. A lot of people think of love as something that just happens. From my own experiences, I see love as more of a job interview. Once you fall in love its like getting hired. From that point on, you have a job. I think love often (not always) fails because people aren't willing to put enough effort into it.

An interesting but potentially dangerous analogy (metaphorically speaking) - Love as a job interview and falling in love as being employed...

But hey, let's live dangerously:

Well, for starters it clears up any confusion about redundancies.
Doesn't explain overtime.
And where does the dole (pogey, unemployment insurance) fit in?
Raises the whole welfare/charity question doesn't it.
And procreation? What's that, a bonus or incentive scheme.
How about commisssioned sales-persons?
And those honorarium positions...
Not to mention the self-employed.

You have some very valid points. Sometimes we all wish Love had more of a charity aspect to it. But then all of your friends would just say, "Ya gotta love pity." Then you might feel bad. Also, what would you collect for unemployment? Kisses? Hugs? One could only hope huge sums of money. I also think the self-employed would just continue to do what they do now, by using people to get what they want, sort of like pool hustlers. Wow, I need to let my head rest.

I don't think love needs to be worked at it's the relationship which needs the effort the love is just there...
