I was thinking of linking to h2g2 from my page @ [URL removed by moderator]. However, upon entering this section, I notice that the only options you've made available is banners. Now, a banner would seriously mess up the nice little selection of 88x31 buttons I'm currently displaying, so I was wondering wether one or more 88x31px buttons would be made available in the near future, or if I was allowed to tinker with the h2g2 logo, to create a button of said dimensions to display on my page for linking purposes.

Hey there Aiee.
I don't know the answer to your official question, but lots of people have done some tinkering -- for instance, see Croz' page of animated ones: http://www.h2g2.com/A325658. He's a scout, and the page has been up since May, so I'm guessing you could get away with it. 
Hopefully you'll come up with something good that I can borrow.

the alabaster and goo buttons are great but.....
