Now it's a Tea Party!

Perfectly okay... join us for tea?
(btw, your name is cool with or without the ACE after it, just to answer your question).
Now it's a Tea Party!

Peregrin: Yes I'm on h2g2. Yes I have ICQ installed. Yes I can run it. I can access my [email protected] adddress from here, none of the others though. Well, I could if I could be bothered to set up Outlook properly, but I can't, so there.
I don't know why I'm not in Southampton. In fact... why aren't I?
My shoe size is 11. I think.
Any other questions...?
If not, then back to the tea party...
I don't really know much about tea - I've only had a few variations on the standard type of tea - Earl Grey being the only one of those that I can actually remember. Oh yes, and Darjeeling.
And cheese
Oh wait. That isn't a type of tea is it?
Now it's a Tea Party!
Peregrin Posted Jun 24, 2000
T... mmmm....
Actually I dislike tea, but as this is a virtual world... *slurp*
Now it's a Tea Party!
Amy: ear-deep in novels, poetics, and historical documents. Posted Jun 25, 2000
*sips tea I didn't realize we had made as of yet*
Virtual world, real world... heck, why draw a line? (I am, of course, joking....)
Now it's a Tea Party!
Peregrin Posted Jun 25, 2000
I occasionally have problems drawing the line between dreaming and reality... either I dream about something bad happening and get into a major panic, or I wake up thinking something has happened, which hasn't, and get a bit confused.
But me being confused and confusing is nothing new...
Now it's a Tea Party!
Roasted Amoeba Posted Jun 26, 2000
Too true...
We haven't made the tea, but I think there was some lying around... I wouldn't vouch for its taste or freshness though...
So... how does one go about making tea, anyway...?
Now it's a Tea Party!
Peregrin Posted Jun 26, 2000
Something to do with excited H20, baby food squirted out of a cow, dried leaves hand picked by slave labour, and a mineral substance made from beetroots. I don't know the grisly details.

Er, yes, *something* like that...
Now it's a Tea Party!
Roasted Amoeba Posted Jun 27, 2000
Now I know what I've been doing wrong all these years...
Now it's a Tea Party!
Peregrin Posted Jun 27, 2000
Oh and RA, the kettle needs to actually heat up the water, rather than just sitting there.
(actually, we've got a new kettle now, don't we? I'm not sure, as I never drink RL tea)
Now it's a Tea Party!
Roasted Amoeba Posted Jun 27, 2000
Er... Peregrin... we've had a new kettle for about 3 months...
I knew your observation skills weren't exactly the best, but really...

Yeesh, they're almost as bad as mine.
They built a new building down the road, and I didn't notice for almost six months....
Now it's a Tea Party!
Roasted Amoeba Posted Jul 1, 2000
I think I mentioned somewhere in another forum how I didn't notice for a whole year that my lecture theatres have no windows... So I'm not much better...
Now it's a Tea Party!
Amy: ear-deep in novels, poetics, and historical documents. Posted Jul 2, 2000
Ah, yes, I seem to remember that.
I need some more tea. I'm semi-depressed... my friend who's leaving for the Marines on the 5th had a "good-bye" party this evening that I went to. Now I'm rather sad, and slightly annoyed since I didn't get to hang out with him as much as I wanted to. *gulps, rather than sips tea* That's slightly better. *sigh*

Roasted Amoeba Posted Jul 5, 2000
I think I know the feeling... one of my closest friends left for college last year, and I hadn't talked to her as much as I'd wanted to...
But life carries on... which, I suppose, is rather a good thing...
Here... have some "Birthday tea" which I just brewed specially... it even has a candle in the middle...
Now it's a Tea Party!
Amy: ear-deep in novels, poetics, and historical documents. Posted Jul 5, 2000
Thank you. *blows out candle, which I suppose was lit* Now. Should I drink with the candle in it or not...? Umm... without it. Wax tends to taste rather, well, waxy. *takes another sip of tea, this time from the special birthday brew*
*sigh* The aforementioned Marine recruit's plane to S.C. took off just under an hour ago. He's gonna have fun... *maniacal laughter* I'm gonna miss him terrribly-- especially since yesterday he showed up at my house with a bunch of my stuff (and our mutual youth group leader's stuff) that I've been asking him to return for months. And so we hung out together in my basement, just goofing off, and then he drove me over to one of my other friend's house for a 4th of July celebration. Yeah. That kinda makes him leaving worse, because I was all set, thinking on Sunday that it was the last time I'd see him until he goes on leave... and then he just randomly shows up and hangs out with me for an hour. Not that I mind... ... but it just kinda makes me nuts.
Ok. I'm done obsessing for today. I really should get a job or something, just so I don't stress myself out with worry or anything. *pause* Then again....

Roasted Amoeba Posted Jul 5, 2000
Well, I think the candle was lit, but the sun was directly in my eyes when I was trying to light it (yes we do have the sun over here - occasionally ) so I couldn't really tell... Plus the piece of cheese sitting in the corner of the room kept on saying, "Wibbles. Wibbles. Wibbles." over and over again...
I got you a present. I would have wrapped it, but trying to virtually unwrap it would have taken forever, so I didn't... Hope you don't mind...
Oh - I suppose I should say what the present actually is... It's a quote... engraved on a piece of cheese, obviously...
"I will tell you why; so shall my anticipation
prevent your discovery, and your secrecy to the king
and queen moult no feather. I have of late--but
wherefore I know not--lost all my mirth, forgone all
custom of exercises; and indeed it goes so heavily
with my disposition that this goodly frame, the
earth, seems to me a sterile promontory, this most
excellent canopy, the air, look you, this brave
o'erhanging firmament, this majestical roof fretted
with golden fire, why, it appears no other thing to
me than a foul and pestilent congregation of vapours.
What a piece of work is a man! how noble in reason!
how infinite in faculty! in form and moving how
express and admirable! in action how like an angel!
in apprehension how like a god! the beauty of the
world! the paragon of animals! And yet, to me,
what is this quintessence of dust? man delights not
me: no, nor woman neither, though by your smiling
you seem to say so."
(One of my favourite quotes from the Bard... )
Here's another, just because I like it:
"Tis time I were choked
with a piece of toasted cheese."

*pokes at Peregrin and RA with a spoon*
Hey, you two? You awake? Or did I put y'all asleep with my ramblings?
*pokes at them again. they don't wake up and Amy decides to carry on a conversation with the piece of cheese RA gave her, which just happens to be sentient*

Who? What? Where?
Uuurgh.
Hmm. That cheese probably will give a more intelligent conversation that either of us.
So... where am I... oh yes. How's your research going, Amy?
