Come down off your throne
And leave your body alone
Somebody must change
You are the reason I've been waiting so long
Somebody holds the key
Well I'm near the end and I just ain't got the time
And I'm wasted and I...

Well as usual I get back to find that someone's already answered the ones I know and I'm left with a blank.
Interesting name-change Mike.
Oh yeah... the mouse is back in town!

Maybe I should give you all a lyrics for it (the name change, that is)

Pastey Posted Jun 5, 2000
Okay, that last one took me a lot longer than it should
'Well, I'm near the end and I just ain't got the time
Well, I'm wasted and I can't find my way home'
That'll be the one and only Eric Clapton with Can't Find My Way Home.
Quorthon were a band weren't they?

Or the answer can even be found here: http://www.h2g2.com/A233614
No takers for the extra point I offered? well the tune was The Gift by Way Out West (sampling the first time ever I saw your face)

Ok guys, here you go. Complete lyrics for the song. It'll prolly be tough, so I'll dish out plenty clues. Even if you don't get it, I think these lyrics are classic, and hope you do too. You can download a 28-secind clip of it, and that clip is epic.
Here goes...
One man rode the way through the woods
Down to Asa bay
Where dragon ships had sailed to sea
More times than one could say
To see with own eyes the wonder
People told of from man to man
The God of all almightyness
Had arrived from a foreign land
The rumours told of a man
Who had come from the other side the sea
Carrying gold cross around neck in chain
And spoke in strange tongue of peace
He had come with strange men in armour
Dressed in purple shirts and lace
Smelling not of beer but flowers
And with no hair in face
And the bold man carrying cross
Had told all one of Asa bay
The God of all man woman child had come
To them all save
And to thank Lord of Heaven
One should build to God a house
And to save one's soul from Hell
One should be baptised and say vows
A man of pride with the Hammer told new God
To build his house on own
And spoke loud of the Gods of their fathers
Not too long time gone
The rumours said the man with a beard like fire
And the Hammer in chain
By men in armour silenced was and by
Their swords was slain
Those who did not pay the one coin
Of four to man of new God
Whipped was twenty and put in chains then locked
By their neck to the log To the log
And so all of Asa bay did build
A house of the cross
Every hour of daylight they did sweat
Limbs ached because faith does cost
And on the day two hundred
There it stood white to the sky
The house of the God of the cross
Big enough to take two dragon ships inside
And all of Asa bay did watch
The wonder raise to the sky
Now must the God of the cross be pleased
And satisfied
Just outside the circle of the crowd
One old man did stand
He looked across the waters
And blotted the sun out of his eyes with one hand
And his old eyes could almost see
The dragon ships set sails
And his old ears could almost hear
Men of great numbers call out Oden's hail
And though he did know already
Though he turned face towards sky
And whispered silent words forgotten
Spoken only way up high
Now this house of a foreign God does stand
Now must they leave us alone
Still he heard from somewhere in the woods
Old crow of wisdom say
"...people of Asa land, it's only just begun..."

Simulpost!
QMike, I'll go that the lyrics are from Bathory but as to the song I don't know.
How about this then.
We've taken care of everything
The words you hear the songs you sing
The pictures that give pleasure to you eyes.
It's one for all and all for one
We work together common sons
Never need to wonder how or why.

Pastey Posted Jun 5, 2000
I'll agree with Bathory and hazard a guess at One Rode to Asa Bay?
Another clue on my little poser then, er.. first verse,
We follow the tail lights out of the city
Moving in a river of red
As the colours fade away from the dusky sunset
We roll for the darkness ahead

Can I play? I actually knew that Youth Gone Wild wayyyy up there...
Here's one that, if MikeA doesn't get it instantly, I'd be completely shocked:
Kill for gain or shoot to maim
But we don't need a reason
The golden goose is on the loose
But never out of season

Okay, if you can't answer 'em... set 'em!
Here's a little something testing. But I'll let you have the first few lines to make it easier.
I can feel the whole world spinning around
I'm losing ground
I feel it every day
And I can feel you coming inside out
I'm losing touch with all reality
Over to you guys!

Guess it really is too testing then.
How about (inspired by TV tonight) something else...
'Mother doesn't know where love has gone
She says it must be youth that keeps us feeling strong
I see it in a face that's turned to ice
And when she smiles she shows the lines of sacrifice...'
Those were my salad days...
