Okay... this one's especially for Mike A: smiley - smiley

Since I was born
They couldn't hold me down
Another misfit kid
Another burned out town

Hmmm, I got a feeling this should be easy *^_^*

Give thee time smiley - winkeye

And for those of you wondering what my lyrics from the other thread was, it was Die By The Sword by Slayer. Which is hardly surprising, seeing as the lyrics I gave you were "Die by the sword, die by the sword".

Ooooh, this is real unfair!

Well, while I mull it over tonight I'll give you two to chew on. From both ends of the HM time spectrum.

"You know, in my life
I've been a fighting man
Hard times, hit me
Now I'm going down"

"I've felt the hate rise up in me
Kneel down and clear the stone of leaves
I wander out where you can't see
Inside my shell I wait and bleed"

Hmmm... that last one sounds a little familiar, but not my area of expertise in general. *have I got an area of expertise?*

Time for a little clue? The track was taken from an album with the same name as the group, and is from 1989. *don't want to make it too easy* smiley - smiley

Ok, I'll peruse my Metal Hammers and Kerrang!s and see if I can sort it!

Now it's my turn to help:

The first one is from 1980, the band being one that housed future Iron Maiden singer Bruce Bruce (as he was known when they did that song).

The second one is 20 years younger than that, a single from last month.

Ah... that may be why it sounds familiar! A few more lyrics for you:

I never played it by the rules
And I never really cared
My nasty reputation
Takes me everywhere

It reminded me of The Offspring, and I guess that '89 is the right sort of time for them to have released a debut album. Or am I still deluded?

A clue to mine: both bands begin with 'S'.

Hey! So does mine! smiley - winkeye

Hmmm... S...? Steps! smiley - winkeye

Ok, mine are Samson and Slipknot. Now get the songs.

Debut album beginning with 'S' in 1989...not Sepultcha (or however you spell it). Certainly not my two, nor Slayer or Saxon...

I got it! Yours must be by Skid Row!
But of course I won't know the song. I give up on that.

*rapturous applause* Skid Row it was! And 'Youth Gone Wild'. smiley - smiley

I'm never going to get yours though. smiley - sadface Where is everybody? We need to call for backup. Where's Nonnie gone?

Mike A (snowblind)

Ok, mine were:
Hard Times by Samson.
Wait & Bleed by Slipknot.

This will allow me to get my act together and not flood this place with HM. I guess that could put off some people. I called on Urchin (from the last thread) to come here, so expect him sometime next week. As for 'nonnie, well! Hurre up, please!

Mike A (snowblind)

Well I remember
I remember 'don't worry'
How could I ever forget it's the first time
The last time we ever met
But I know the reason why you've kept me silent so long
No you can't fool me
The hurt doesn't show, but the pain still grows
't's no stranger to you and me...

Not really a fan, but I know good music when I hear it smiley - winkeye

Where tf is everyone?!

Now, how did the first verse of that song go?

Post 19

Well if you told me you were drowning
I would not lend a hand
I've seen your face before my friend
But I don't know if you know who I am
'Cause I was there and I saw what you did
I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off that grin, I know where you've been
It's all been a pack of lies

smiley - winkeye Excellent song. Reminds me I haven't heard it for a while. I also like 'If leaving me is easy' - some excellent sax. smiley - smiley Though, if I remember rightly, you're more of a guitar man?

But indeed, where is everyone? I haven't seen Nonnie on for ages now, and what happened to all the other regulars?

Waxer - get back in here! smiley - winkeye

More lyrics needed I think. Hmmm... something else which I haven't heard for a while (but have just put the album on!):

'All the late night bargains have been struck
Between the satin beaus and their belles
And prehistoric garbage trucks
Have the city to themselves...'

Yeah, I play bass guitar. smiley - smiley

Well, yesterday I went round the homepages of a few members of my Bring Back Dangermouse, gave them a few links to spur them into action. We could do the same thing.

Thanks for PC lyrics smiley - smiley

I'm gonna think of my own...
