Forest path from the misty beach

*Looking around confusedly.* Have I got this right? That waterfall and stream spat us out of the cave and now we are once again outdoors, but this isn't the Missouri side of the Mississippi River, is it? I thought we were on the way to Vegas. Which of these paths would take us to Vegas?
I don't know. I like the path with the birds flying in circles above it. I know they look like vultures, but maybe they aren't really vultures. That mist is making me nervous. I keep seeing shapes in it.
What does the other path look like again?

Mari-rae, is that you? It's hard to see through the mist, although the darkness is no problem for me. I'll describe the paths again.
The first is to the left. It looks clear and well trodden, but it is not possible to see where it goes as there is a sharp bend in it almost straight away.
The middle path is straighter, but seems overgrown. There are birds circling above.
The right hand path is more difficult to see. There is a mist rolling along it towards the beach, which is getting nearer and nearer all the time.
Is anyone else there?

I thought I heard some voices down there . Glad to see you all here.

*the mist is almost completely surrounding everyone. They are satumbling about and bumping into each other*
Perhaps we need to light a fire, and vote on which path to take.

*alicat joins Mari-rae picking up wood and kindling. Before long a nice roaring fire is started.* It almost makes you want to sit around and tell ghost stories.

Let's start with the sitting down part then. Unless, of course, there are any other things that need to be done at the moment?

*Sits down and opens a beer*
How about the path with the mist? I like surprises. We could tie a rope around each other so we don't get lost...that's if we have a rope, of course.
*Looks round for further suggestions*

It's fine by me. The last time I was in for a surprise, I almost drowned, so I think I've got the knack by now. As for a rope, wasn't there some rope tied to the raft? If we can still find the pieces, we may be able to improvise...

*alicat searches the wreckage of the raft and is rewarded with a long length of yellow nylon rore.* This should do quite nicely.

LOL, i'm not game to ask
On a more serious note, why do we need to chose one of the 3 paths, why can't we just walk along the beach? It would save us having to carry a fishtank around..........

Oops! Sorry, that was me...I really must stop eating that spicy lentil soup. However, I wouldn't go lighting any matches for the next few minutes, just to be on the safe side!

Perhaps it wasn't the soup after all...
