Will do as soon as I can I'm a bit busy with living in a new city and the new job doesn't let me online as much during work time, so the Society's gone a little quiet of late, but I should be back up to speed quite soon.

I'm not entirely sure about SPECIALISED knowledge of all these places, but these are all the places I remember stuff about...
UK...
West Midlands = home territory.
Wales - Aberystwyth, Borth, Tenby
Europe...
Spain - Barcelona, Javea
France - Val Thorens (skiing)
Greece - Corfu
Asia...
Thailand (Central and South)
Malaysia (Northern Islands, Cameron Highlands)
Singapore
Oceania
Australia - East Coast Sydney to Cape Tribulation
I usually do typical low-budget travelling - cheap flights and dodgy dives with backpacks. However, my favourite way to travel is in my car, a dodgy old Volkswagen Golf Mk II...

A gentle reminder... of course, the whole membership is welcome to do as much or as little as it likes, and choose to be a passive or active member of the Society. You're all busy people, after all.
But a quick test revealed that only about a quarter of us are currently subscribed to the Members' Bar page, and being as that's where everything connected with this thing is going to happen, I though perhaps a few more of us would like to subscribe.
Now, I'm a bit dumb on the technical side, but hopefully clicking on this link <./>FSB634966?cmd=subscribeforum&page=normal&desc=Return+to+the+Guide+Entry&return=A1337546</.> should do the trick. Or perhaps not, I'll just have to suck it and see.

Coupla sentences. I already sent the stuff in, but I know Shazz and Deus, so I think they'll make an exception for their favorite

Hi #6
Hate to be pedantic , but Independent Samoa and Tonga are 2 different countries and should perhaps be separated in the specialisms list for Oceania.
I'm still struggling with a Samoa entry. There's so much I want to say, it might have to be split into 2. Will put something in WW or PR in the next few days. Keep an eye out.

Hi Hypatia
No Crankiness this week?
If you get the chance, do go to Samoa. It's a truly wonderful place. I'm wrestling with words to get the atmosphere of the people and the country in the entry I'm writing. It's all to easy to make a geographical entry *plod*, which doesn't do justice to most places.

Lady Pennywhistle - Back with a vengeance! [for a certain, limited value of Vengeance; actual amounts of Vengeance may vary] Posted Nov 4, 2003
A new member... hi everybody
I guess my specialty would be Israel in general, but especially Jerusalem since that's where I live (for about 20 years now).
Also: I was a counsellor in a summer camp in north-east Pennsylvania this summer, and I think I might write an entry about it when I get back there next year. And I travelled a bit in Brasil, so I might be able to write something about it - I don't know a lot, but my mother grew up there, so I can try and get info from her.
So maybe you finally have someone to put under South America in your list.

I guess my current speciality, having just come back from those countries could be Tanzania, Nepal, Namibia, Botswana and SA. Look out for articles on at least the first two of those countries at some point.
In the past I've written about all sorts of funny places, from Spitsbergen to Nailsea...
My favourite way to travel is by train, bike or foot. My least favourite is any African minibus taxi, or any boat on any body of water that is not as still as a millpond - otherwise
