A lot of this stuff was published in the UK by Flying Buffalo - I still have in the attic copies of Tulan of the Isles, Carse, Traps and Treasures, and a lot of their other stuff published for general gaming. Flying Buffalo was, I think, Steve Jackson and they were selling a less complicated FRP called Tunnels and Trolls (I've still got that in the box as well)
The Friday Nighters are mentioned in the dedication of every solo Feist book.
I still have my original paperback edition of Maginian, much read by me, and now very tatty having also being read by 4 of my daughters - more than once.
I suppose I'd better read the article now - this is just comment on the thread.

Like many other have implied the article is fine - but - there's a lot more could be added to it.
The books are very sparsely described, I'd like to see a bit more about major characters.
I'd also like to see a general description of the books. Imagine you'd never heard of Raymond E. Feist and someone recommended one of his books to you - you do a H2G2 search and get this - do you know if its the kind of book you'd like to read ?
Mikey has done a few book series reviews - go to her home page and look under published entries.

I hope to solve that by doing a page on the works of Feist in collab with another fan. It's only in the draft stages at the moment but the point is well taken.

Well, I'm a bit confused. As it stands, this entry really focuses almost entirely on the works of Feist, and really very little at all about the author himself.
Now you're saying that you're going to work on a new entry, and that's going to focus on the works of Feist.
So where does that leave this entry? The two entries really shouldn't overlap in content very much, but if you take out most of the info on the works of Feist from this one, I don't think there would be very much left.

I still suggest renaming this as a general "The Works Of Raymond E. Feist" with the more thorough book reviews to come later on, leaving open the possibility of a more general article on the person himself.
BTW, anyone ever wonder about this Guide's lengthy articles as opposed to the original Guide's shorter entries (such as "Mostly Harmless")? That just hit me right now.

That was just the Eath entry - what about the Ravenous bugblatter beast of Traal ?

The Edited Guide is not much like the original in many ways, so it didn't occur to me. The 'Knob of Butter' entry was pretty short.
There's a 'to' near the end of this piece that should be a 'too' but I can't find it again.

I wonder whether it's worth removing the reference to his divorce, as I'm not sure how it's relevent, unless the identity of his ex-wife is important?

Not as much as I'd like to be at the moment unfortunately.
All my articles seem to be on the back burner at the moment. I'll sort them out someday.....

If it's going to be quite awhile before you can get to it (i.e., on the order of months rather than days or weeks), I'd suggest removing the thread from Peer Review, and then you can submit it again when you have more time for it.

Hmmm.... Tenaka isn't AWOL -- gone for a bit, but has been before and will probably be back again. On the other hand, it's been quite some time since he's had a chance to work on this one, and there is still significant work needing to be done. Hopefully, he'll be back soon.
If it ends up in the Flea Market, though, I'd be more than happy to take it on!

Dunno about FM, Mikey... Tanaka has last posted on hootoo about a month ago, maybe he's just on vacation, or lost track of this thread. A move to the Entry itself would be more appropriate I think.
What do the others think?
