Why does it say "Mmm... honey!" at the very bottom of the front page?

It's a reference to the new Front Page colour, which looks like honey. It's also the name of the h2g2 hamster, who is running round like anyone's business trying to generate enough power to keep things going. When the site goes down temporarily, it's because Honey stops for a ciggie or a toilet break.

The announcement does say the changes in design will be more obvious in Brunel. Honey is the most obvious one.

so if goo and alabaster are still the same colour, why does it say "mmm...honey" at the bottom in those skins too?

We can't do skin-specific text for the Front Page, so one text fits all (or, in the case of Goo, um, doesn't).
Besides, it's not Honey any more. Today, we're honouring the h2g2 penguin, Chilly, who helps us write all those frosty feedback replies...
