Hi Ictoan. Greetings from gandalfstwin!!!
Liverpool are going pretty well at the moment. Only three points behind ManU., But we (Liverpool) are convinced that they will 'cock it up', and allow Liverpool to overhaul them, and bring back the Premiership Trophy back where it belongs:
ANFIELD !!!!!!!

Watched a child put something into a bin in japan and hen his grandfather take it out again. The right bin had been used but it hadn't been put in 'in the right way'.
The grandfather squashed abd folded it (I can't remember exactly what it was) so that it would take yp less space in the bin... the 'right way' to do it. Seemed just a bit picky!

Where did all the typos come from. I meant :

Just found that one of the flowering plants I bought a month or so ago is infested with blackfly!
I dunked it under water yesterday for around 20mins as a last resort attempt to get rid of blackfly without spending money on sprays for a plant that seems to be reaching the end of its flower time. I found some blackfly still alive just now and was just about to put it in bin but didn't want to kill as such so decide to put it in the communal hallway where no other plants are. If I can get or borrow a plantspray I will or just leave it there. The dunking in water might kill of blackfly eventually, or plant to be honest.

I've been told, that a little washing up liquid in a water spray, will do the same as bought stuff to get rid off them

The weather is looking dull and rainy again but will do another 'basics' shop and stock up on basic things like baked beans, soft drinks, etc that are difficult to carry on my pushbike. There were some halfprice dishclothes there yesterday which I might buy some more of.
I usually buy things I normally buy in quantity if reduced and use them as needed. I am re-trying Sainsbury's own brand coke as have improved it from the absolutely foul tasting stuff it was before. It still isn't great, but better.

Well, I never did get to do the shopping, however I did go to library and get some useful info and sat on the so called village green.
I saw some Swifts high up and House Martins flying low over grass catching insects, and even landing. The few people walking across green seemed oblivious to House Martins.
.
Some good news in my backgarden. The Great Spotted woodpecker's young seemed to have hatched as saw both adults go into tree trunk nest and one was carrying a large bug which suggests their eggs have hatched, yay!
Last year one of the young peckers was harrassed by a silly young Starling and got pecked by the Pecker which was minding its own business on waterbowl. I expect the Starling learnt to not pick on Woodpeckers after that, lol.

It's around 7am and happend to look out window and thought I saw a robin in Leylandi hedge, then thought it looked a bit of a ruddy colour so thought Wren, looked again and no sticky up tail, lo and behold it is the first baby Robin of year! Truely magic to watch its stuttering flight!
G, yes I am truely blessed to have G S Woodpeckers in my garden. I watched the male dig out nest in full view for many weeks wondering if it was a nest of enthusiastic bug seeking, lol.

The weather has been better than expected so was out quite a lot and enjoyed watching a female House Sparrow outside shops. It found a huge piece of cake on one side of pavement and flew with it across to the other and divided it into smaller pieces and proceeded to fly off with small pieces somewhere. I suspect it took it to its nest which would be nice as although a fair number of House Sparrows in hedges in street outside my flat, they are in a general decline perhaps due to hedges being dug up so front gardens can be paved over, sadly.
I added a stepping out stone to my birdbath as quite deep so small birds, like the baby Robin can climb out if go all wobbley and take a tumble in. You could say why not get a shallower bird bath, the problem is it empties so quickly with squirells drinking and Woodpigeons bathing, etc it would soon be empty so no one gets a drink!

nfortunately strangely, a lot of birds are in decline due to urbanisation and intensive farming practices coming in.
