STRANGELY STRANGE ( A brain on a spring )

What is it with Crows today?
Now there are 4 in my garden having a right punch up with one on its back on ground, 3 on top all in close. It all seemed a bit unfair so openned window to break it up. It is one thing if it is a fair arguement all face to face but with one on its back trapped it was all getting a bit nasty!
Strange, it is all well into breeding season with nests built so perhaps it is simply over territory. Strange as often they just shout at each other loudly, well crow, but not that time.

On my walk today I noticed about a quarter of the potato plants are in flower, I walked down the river along the bank today and found lots of allotments with people dotted about working on them, It was hot again today and I wore one of my hats a lightweight one that seems to be made from string(I have 5 cowboy style hats)smiley - smiley

Huh, what is going on in the Crow world?
There is around 100 Crows in field over the road just about every day and yes there is the occassional bicker but they get on ok, but for for around 3 days now, 4 Crows have been really trying to hurt each other in and around my garden, even 3 getting one on its back trapping it and really pecking it. The noise is terrible!
One will be killed at this rate sadly...

I've never heard of crow 'rage' before SS. It does sound strange, I'm imagining a sort of crow gang culture - do they hang around lamp posts and mug old ladies?

Obachan (MIL) just came round with a big bag of my favorite kind of peas, they will get blanched and frozen, I keep meaning to ask we were given a bag of fresh Gingko nuts I like them too but not sure how to use them , I think I remember having them in a chinese dish with chicken and water chestnuts possibly pineapple too, think I might try that lot soon cause it does sound like a nice combination (sorry Lanz ) I think it's me always talking about food , could be because I'm supposed to be on a diet.smiley - winkeye

I think you'll be back at that office in ten years time AGM - and the ten years after that. smiley - winkeye The Japanese health service sounds excellent. I like the phrase - live everyday as if it's your last, but believe that you are going to live forever. - I can't remember who said it first, or something much like. I even went and smiley - lurk on tinterweb and found it was either James Dean or Ghandi. I think I will go and ask 'Ask'?smiley - huh

Well they aren't so much Hooded Crows as Hoodie Crows!
.
Yes it is odd as have been carrying it on for so long, even it just happened a couple of times someone would be declared the leader and others back off, but it is the intensity of it which is odd and unusual.
.
The weather is looking dark and overcast and they said it would be windy and raining all day so not unexpected.

600 grams of peas ready for cooking smiley - biggrin
Katsudon= A nice slice of pork breaded n deep fried, then it goes into a smallish frying pan with a water based soup + Mirin, sake and soysauce reckon a small spoon of each plus about small cup of water thinly sliced onion a couple of Mitsuba leaves(japanese veg) a few peas and a beaten egg, when the egg is cooked it all goes on a large bowl of rice the liquid changing the taste of the rice , I like it smiley - biggrin
