I'm going to protest naked in my bed for a few hours.
I will be using non-direct non-physical non-action to achieve this end.
At the end of this successful 'bed-in' a small clock on my bedside cabinet will make a beep-beep noise to alert me to the fact that all I wanted to achieve has been done.

I think I must be mad.
I want GIRR'itis to be firmly put into the history books as a fight for the misunderstood - misconceived - mismanged - misjudged - misguided - misbehaved - the mischieviously MISSPELLED, and any other MIS you can think of.
In other words, don't MISGERR
Beam me in Scotty.

Fairly Strange, TWF, and Vegiman: Welcome!
Fairly - must admit I've never been in a true protest, much less led one. But don't worry, I'm willing to get arrested if need be...
TWF - I assumed that your nakedness was a request to join. I'm not sure what it all means, but if you need to put some clothes on and resign, just let me know....
Vegiman - GIRRitis sounds like something TV's Dog would get. Have been meaning to read your two pennuth, by the way. Will get to it eventually....

I meant it was getting late so I needed to go to bed
Sign me up anyway, I have worked out how to do all the right-hand reference stuff but I can't be bothered.

I see.
Someone who knows the secret but doesn't think it's worth it. Perfect! You can be our patron saint, TWF.

Deal me in. Where's the vodka?
And let's keep Ghandi in mind as we launch this protest.

Peaceful resistance. I don't wanna hear anybody calling each other names or blowing up stuff or being generally unruly. We're just having a party here in celebration against those who would seek to use knowledge as a tool separating those 'in the know' from others.
We're in this community together. Such harbouring of secrets threatens to create cliquish behaviour which I have seen far too much of elsewhere in the Internet. I don't wanna see it happen here also.
It's not like they found a treasure map and want to keep the wealth all to themselves. They have nothing to gain from keeping secrets. They're just being childish and petty. Besides this is a perfect excuse to get properly intoxicated all for a good cause.
It probably won't make a difference to protest, but if we get properly sloshed in the process it'll be a lot of fun. Where's the vodka?

I am totally and whole-heartedly into GIRR. I'm so apathetic to the entire secrets of H2G2 html tricks, I'm not even sure if I could refer another page within the regular text of a page, let alone in the right margin.
One for all, all for one, and nothing for nobody until everybody can have it too!

Hey, no worries guys, I've got my Dr.Who style endless pocket full of booze.
Please, help yourselves.
I just realized that you can attach a small flap of thick paper with some sticky tape to run down the entire left hand side of your monitor.
Whilst within a forum you can fold the paper away from the monitor.
Just as you enter a user page you can fold the paper to the left and hide the entire 'referenced blah blah blah' nonsense on the RHS completely. Neat, huh!

Sign me up team. Wonders if Fairly Strange was on the same protest as me in 72. Protesting against the French testing their nuclear bomb in the South Pacific. We marched from Hyde Park to the French Ambassador's residence. Alas he was in France. The street party afterwards was a riot.
