And I expect you spend too much time playing Mafia Wars. Maybe if you gave up Mafia Wars you'd walk around more and not have to give up

I've never played a facebook game and I don't intend to start.
This place is bad enough -- I'm trying to finish reading Mervyn Peake's collected poems before bedtime, fo gosh sakes!

I was thinking:
'bejeweled blitz'? I'm almost finished Peake's poems and I've not heard of that one. I have to find a copy -- oh. Facebook game.

"In conscience, and before God, I must inform your Excellency that I am adamantly opposed to Fr. Prince receiving any Papal honour or ever being promoted to the Episcopate," Windle wrote.
"The consequences of such an action would disastrous, not only for the Canadian Church but for the Holy See, as well."

Well, they won´t get pregnant. Taff - in Germany you dont tithe, there´s a church tax deducted from your income if you don´t (costs time and money)give up membership. All my family are considered cheapskate heathens by the local parsons.

The future Pope Benedict XVI resisted pleas to defrock a California priest with a record of sexually molesting children, citing concerns including "the good of the universal church," according to a 1985 letter bearing his signature.

I don't believe in Darwin. Captain Fitzroy had an imaginary friend on the Beagle and the sailors went along with it.
It's a conspiracy.

The crazy nutters are going to be pouring out of the woodwork now. The National Day of Prayer has been challenged!

National Day of prayer - peanuts. During the French revolution there was planning to have a completely decimal calendar (with ten days per week @ ten hours per day etc.)that included a regularly occurring year (ten months of course)with no work, just sports and prayer.
With gyms and churches doing a roaring trade in America one might feel there must be some centuries old connection.

'An Alabama evangelist who authorities say terrorized his family while preaching at revivals has been sentenced to life plus 51 years in prison after being convicted of killing his wife and storing her body in a home freezer.
Circuit Judge John Lockett imposed the sentence Thursday on Anthony Hopkins, 39, who showed no remorse during the proceeding. He got the maximum sentence of life for murder and additional time for convictions including sodomy and sexual abuse.'

'SmedleyButler' made the following comment, presumably first quoting another commenter:
Dennis Brady: Interesting priority the RCC has. If a priest takes their money, they turn him over to the civil authorities for criminal prosecution. If a priest rapes a young boy, they protect and relocate him.
Stealing from the church is bad but raping children isn't?
- No no Dennis, the RCC wasn't mad that he stole the money, they were irked that he spent it on male escorts when there were soo many altar boys readily available for free.
