I got up at noon and ate some soup for breakfast. In the afternoon a friend of mine paid me a visit and we discussed what’s going on at university. We came to the decision that there is no sense in going back to Vienna, and that we will both stay at our parents’ homes for the moment.
I wasted the rest of the afternoon in the internet. In the evening I watched “Emergency Room” and “Sex and the City”. Now I’m glad that Dr. Kovac is still alive, and I’m worried about Samantha who discovered that she has breast cancer.
John Peel is dead.

I never watch any television except for the news and old re-runs of Friends. I get too bored or start thinking about unrelated things etc.
Maybe you could say the soup was for brunch, seeing as it was noon.
Do you know what is so important about the fact John Peel has died? I mean...not just that a BBC DJ has died...

No, it was my first meal of the day, so it was breakfast. I had dinner at 7.00 p.m. and I will have supper at midnight. Only one more hour to go!!! Maybe I will have brunch tomorrow in the morning. I'll let you know!
No, I haven’t heard of John Peel before.

John Peel was a major factor to the publication of punk-rock music in the 70s and 80s. He played a lot of up and coming bands on the radio, helping them to get publicity and bringing unknown bands to the foreground. He's been very influential.
If you're eating breakfast at lunch time or near and you aren't having a lunch then it's brunch.
Or if you're a hobbit you have
first breakfast
second breakfast
elevenses
lunch
high tea
low tea
dinner
supper
bedtime snack

I mean, what kind of slang is this? It's hopeless!
Me and Bruce and Bazza are gonna go over here and drink some beer while you pomes get some better slang.
(I actaully know a guy called Bazza... Ok, so his real name's Leigh but we've called him Barry forever, no one really knows why, and so he's Bazza)
