All the advantage of travelling, without all that packing, passports, flying around in fuel filled metal tubes with terrorists taking pot shots.
But I would need to reprogram the flight computer to avoid mortal danger and alien incursions

Rains - Wondering where time's going and why it's in so much of a hurry! Posted Aug 14, 2003
Yeah....I'd second that. Sounds fun!
But only if the Doctor regenerated as, say, Joseph Fiennes or Harrison Ford!

Researcher PSG Posted Aug 14, 2003
It would probably better just to go joyriding in the TARDIS than have a Doctor along as he is guarenteed to find some power crazed nutter.

That's true.... but at least it wouldn't be boring!
And if I remember rightly, anyone who nicked the TARDIS or hitched rides got into big trouble.

Yeah, I must admit there is a less than good track record for people who weren't invited aboard.
But travelling with the Doctor you would probably feel the need to wear body armour constantly

Rains - Wondering where time's going and why it's in so much of a hurry! Posted Aug 18, 2003
Definitely....probably with an assortment of hidden weapons, too .
Failing that, you'd have to find a way of implementing some sort of escape hatch/hiding place...
Or am I thinking too deeply about this, now?

Rains - Wondering where time's going and why it's in so much of a hurry! Posted Aug 19, 2003
Well, it beats thinking deeply about work
We could always hide Linda Barker and Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen in there and then maybe get the Doctor to dump them somewhere, too....

Researcher PSG Posted Aug 19, 2003
Thinking about work, never
Good idea. I'm sure there is some barren rock in the universe free from MDF where they can be dumped. Although it will have to be uninhabited. Even if there is only a rudementary culture I can see them trying to get people to decorate the inside of their mud huts in mock georgian architecture.

How cruel to the natives sending those two!
I nominate Rains to be the first female Doctor, you sound the kind of girl I wouldnt mind going planet hopping with!

Hey,Folks,
would you really put Llewellyn-Bowen and Barker together. What if they breed? We would have MDF creches all over the place, and a pink chintz revolution.B & Q would have to be B & B. Now if it was Ryder-Richardson and I together?????? (have to put her off pink !!!!!!!)

Oh..hadn't thought of that. How dreadful!
You can just imagine her trying to persude the Doctor to paint the TARDIS pink.

Also would K-9 become QT-9? The interesting part would be that the blue flashing light would be replaced by fairy-lights, and Tom would have to be with them to handle the Sonic-screwdriver.
May-be Adam Hart-Davis could be included? With dress sense like his he would fit perfectly.

Adam Hart-Davies would be cool! Plus you can bet he'd really p*** the Daleks off
You're not an engineer by any chance? Most Adam Hart Davies fans I know of are engineers.........

Actually, in the story 'The Happiness Patrol', the TARDIS was painted pink. Another advantage of the TARDIS is that the interior can be reformed according to taste without a great deal of effort. Joyriding's out of the question, though, since there's a telepathic circuit which stops other people piloting it (at least, stops people using it when its convenient for the plot). Sorry, I'm a Dr. Who nerd... :$

No, not an engineer, but I suppose he could always fix the Tardis if it went wrong!!! He wouldn't get lost if there was the usual tardis power failure rate.

Researcher PSG Posted Aug 20, 2003
true but do you really want to fly in a TARDIS repaired using bicycle parts and a washing up bottle.
In dress sense terms he'd probably borrow the sixth doctors coat

I think Adam Hart Davies is ok, and that is the opinion of another none engineer. Shame they canceled Tomorrows World.
The Daleks wouldn't stand a chance. He'd recreate an 18th century experiment at them so fast it would make their plungers spin

On a semi related note, has anyone seen Dead Ringers with Jon Culshaw as Tom Baker's version of the Doctor, speed-dating to find a replacement sidekick? Tremendous.
