Just checked my photo's and indeed it apears tyo be black.
I just assumed it was that colour due to the rain

Nope, I think they did it deliberately as a kind of way of getting away from The Prisoner image. I don't think they can make their minds up about it. They threw Max out of The Prisoner shop and took it over themselves, but it's just run by the staff now, who probably don't have the same in-depth knowledge or commitment that Max had.

I'd love to study the flora and fauna of the penninsula. With that unusual climate and all the formal gardens, I wonder what effect they have had on the environment.
