Blimey, bit of a backlog there. Hi all, for the pen and mousemat. All in all a rather hectic weekend, so time spent in pub and watching old sci-fi counts as a bit of winding down therapy type stuff. So does time spent in pub in Leeds. And time spent watching Spaced on DVD in Leeds. Er, okay, I sat one exam and had four days off, so it wasn't really that hectic.

Yes to Leeds. I was rather hoping it would stop in Bramley on the way, so I was a bit annoyed (made fool of self at station <shame>, but I wasn't too late back.

Did you win a mat, Baggy? My memory must be playing tricks. I thought they'd gone to GreyDesk and Metal Chicken.

I donated it I mean after all, the chap had the same score as MC, and I've been suffering from a bit of mat inflation in recent months - I swear they are breeding in that desk drawer

Well at least I never* stand a chance of winning a pregnant mousemat 'impressively low score' is how I prefer to term it

Not that it matters greatly, but I seemed to remember saying 'OK, we'll leave a £4 tip'. All six of us chipped in £7, making the magic figure of £42, and that covered it with £4 to spare.
It stuck in my mind because, being a stingy old Yorkshireman, a £4 tip is more that I'd usually leave. But that curry deserved it.

Well at the end of that meal I was thinking to myself how a Chef's Special curry, chapatis, and say one sixth of that naan would cost the thick end of a tenner down here from a takeaway let alone from a restaurant! That is presuming of course you could get anything of that quality on the South coast - which you can't

Sorry to hear it, GD. I've had fairly decent takeaways in Brighton, but nothing up to the standard of Omar's.
I now pass Omar's most days on my way to and from university. Sometimes, of an evening, I pause on that stretch of road, inhale deeply, and just savour the delicious aroma of masala.

Brighton is by no means the worst, that dubious honour goes to Chichester
I still recall with horror the one Indian takeaway I bought in the few months that I lived there. The rice had already been prepacked in aluminium boxes and was kept in a warming cupboard beside the till. When the order came through from the kitchen they would take one of these boxes of rice out of the cupboard and pop pit into your carrier bag right in front of you. Suffice to say on serving, the rice hit my plate with a thud and had to be mashed out hard with a fork to break it up so that it could be eaten.
I won't go into the specifics of the chicken dopiaza that came with it. I don't think I need to, you've got the picture already

I shudder to think what they'd have done to my omlette. It'd probably resemble that weird thing they gave me on a British Midland flight.

Can't get that flipping Fotango website thing to make my Broccoli photos visible to the general public. Grrrr! I've never had a problem before now I'm all befuddled and and I'm giving up for today and going to bed.

Sorry there aren't more, specially cos I didn't get any of our favourite or TIMELORD. There aren't any of me either, but that's my prerogative being the photographer
